Hello, and welcome, you found our little blog:)
My name is Shawn Rose, and I am going to be guiding you in the transition to your new Fox On Demand (aka FOD) service.
Before we get too far down the road, a bit of background on FOD and what our team does.
We manage the relationship with our video partner (Move Networks), the technology that supports the page, and the publishing tools for supporting weekly episodes to the page.
You can see a representation of our pages on the following links:
Index Page: http://www.fox.com/fod/
Show Page: http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=fringe
We are excited to be working with you and have a few thoughts on where to start, and fun things to add over time to enhance our working relationship.
First and foremost, we want to make certain that you can link directly to us, so that your users may continue to check out Fox/ Full Length Episodes directly from your local sites.
So, as the terms of your current contracts expires 6/30.09, we suggest that you modify your current FOD page links prior on 6/30 (BUT, NOT BEFORE 6/25) to reflect the link/ url we have created for each of you. The complete list is located at:
http://fox.com/blogs/affiliates/affiliate-urls/
We know that the current implementation utilizes the MyFox branding treatment, but if you like, we can add in your own branding in this area. If you would like to do this, we will confirm the ideal file type, dimensions and file size this week, and will update the blog accordingly with these specs (ETA: Friday, June 19th). Down the road, we will be able to do slightly custom backgrounds as well, so that we may further customize the page for you and your local users of FOD.
If the description, above, does not necessarily clarify what we will be doing, I have a link that should resonate:
Current: http://streaming.myfoxcharlotte.com/
New Link: http://www.fox.com/fod/
Once we formalize the approach, we will update this page with psd’s/ screenshots of the page with the localized branding incorporated:)
If you choose to deliver us your own brand/ marks, we will give you a unique id to append to the link above. Right now, we are thinking something rather simple in terms of nomenclature, but we will (again) confirm that this week. For this first release, we may only be able to complete the MyFox/ Local marks, but we will do our best to add in custom logos for those that want it.
We will also be setting up a test environment between now and July 1, so that you can see what it will look like once you go live. Again, those details will be located here in this blog.
In terms of timing, we suggest prior to 6/30/2009, but this is really up to you. Look to this page over the next few days as we firm everything up. Any questions at all, please reach out to me through the email account listed below.
Best,
Shawn Rose
