Fans Participate on Dance-Off for Judges from So You Think You Can Dance
Fans of “So You Think You Dance” got a chance to strut their stuff in front of show judges Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman and Mandy Moore. They did it at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, May 18. Prizes include “American Idol” finale tickets as well as “So You Think You Can Dance” tickets and a limo ride.

He may be a great choreographer but his ego is over the top. It’s one thing to say someone is “bad” or “horrible”, however to say it over and over again is sickening. He needs to know when to stop talking as he comes across mean spirited, egotistical and arrogant. I’m not liking him much based on his comments. He is no Simon Cowel.
I am so disappointed in this show. When it first aired it was wonderful finding the diamonds in the rough. But now all I see are professional dancers or who people really into the field of dancing. I love the judges with the exception of Mia. She is so full of herself and thinks she is a goddess-I have been around dance and understand it but some of these choreographer are just doing things for attention. Mia get a life you are not the end all or the greatest at all.
Mia… what can I say….tacky tacky tacky. We really used to respect your opinion, but you showed your tail tonight. Your attitude was nothing short of embarrassing. Plus, I saw you dance…not that good.
I was SYTYCD’s biggest fan until this week. Something MUST me done about Mia. I do not care how many awards she has won, or who she is in the dance world, NO ONE should be able to talk to another human being the way she talked to Brandon all week. I have never missed your show in the last three years, and have gone to the tour twice. If something is not done about Mia, I will stop watching. I am extremely disappointed that Nigel allowed her to talk to Brandon the way she did. She has no right!!!!! Who does she think she is? The next time this happens, will be the last time I watch this show.
I have been the biggest fan of SYTYCD for years until this week. Either do something about Mia’s mouth, or I will quit watching. She has absolutely NO right to talk to anyone the way she talked to Brandon all week. I don’t care how many awards she has won, she has no right to talk to another human being like that. I have watched for years, and this is by far my favorite TV show ever, but the next time Mia is allowed to do this will be the last time I watch the show. I am so disappointed that Nigel allowed it. He aired this show, knowing what she said. In my opinion, that means he condones it. I DO NOT!!!!
First, Tyce was so degrading and condescending to the dancers on the first show that the show became quite tiresome to watch because of him.
Granted, the dancers need to be serious and should fully understand what they are up against.
Apparently, the producers think there is value in seeing all auditions great and small; the judges should then be prepared to judge all auditions and do it with tact and perhaps a modicum of professionalism.
What has happened to Mia that has turned her into this wicked and shallow monster? Previously I had marveled at her insightful, authentic, inspiring, emotional and clear critiques. She always gave the dancers support and advice they could work from. She had my utmost respect, for I have witnessed much cruelty in the dance world.
Imagine my surprise when she opened her mouth and all this negativity and down right meanness flew out~ I am truly saddened. She must be too.
I think the judges are too “prejudgemental” but worst of all is watching the fake tears from contestants..nobody wants to see the sobbing. I also don’t care to see the judges expressions and mortified reactions all the time. I watch the show to see the dancers dance …not the judges faces during the performances. Just my opinion. sorry
I like Mia’s judging capabilities most of the time. But I do agree when she doesn’t particularly care for someone it shows.
Mary does the same thing sometimes. I guess I would too if I were a judge…isn’t it human nature?
I don’t remember the judges/choreographer’s name but that gal with the nasty mohawk..OMGGGG how strange can one get? I think her choreography is way out there.
I used to recommend this show to young troubled clients, so they could get a reality dose on the hard work and persistence needed to achieve their dreams. The judges’ positive feedback, combined with calling contestants on occasional grandiosity, arrogance or resistance to positive criticism was just what lots of these kids needed to see. What infuriates and sickens me, is that Mia now portrays exactly the same obnoxious self-absorption that used to get shot down on the show. If you producers think this drama is good for ratings, you’ve seriously miscalculated. Shame on you for allowing Mia to ruin the heart of the show

I think Deborah has said it like it is. Mia M was insulting and destructive with her criticism. I am not interested in whether she likes or dislikes someone. Her job is to critique their dance!!!

My wife and I marvel at the incredible dancing and the beauty of the work that these artists/athletes do. We love much of the show. For the love of God tell that woman to stop screaming. Holy poop! we spend half of the critique segments with the tv on mute. The screaming has moved from cute to obnoxious. Seriously…we know she has meaningful things to say and that she must have great skills and knowledge. It would be good to hear some of these things as opposed to “WOOOOOOO……WOOOOOW”

We are digusted with Tice’s self-righteous criticism.

And we are MUTING entire critique segments to avoid Mary’s OBNOXIOUS woooooooo-wooooooooooing!!

Will Nigel please listen to EVERYONE who says Mary’s screaming is HORRIBLE. OBNOXIOUS AND MAKES ME WANT TO STOP WATCHING. I have started to DVR the show and skip whatever she has to say. It is shame because sometimes what she says is insightful and interesting. BUT WHO CAN STAND HER SCREAMING.

I think Adam is great. I hope Nigel keeps Adam on as a judge all of the time. He gives great feedback and has an awesome sense of humor. I love Adam!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please stay Adam. I to had chills up my spine when Ade and Melissa danced I almost cried I loved the dance and the song!!! Please keep ADAM NO MORE MIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember last season when she told Kerrington she was smiling during that beautiful performance meant for the chorographers daughter and she shoudn’t have been. Well Nigel p

I love Adam. He has such a great way of expressing his critics. He should be a judge more frequent. Mary makes me laugh. God bless her vocal cords. The one that makes the show is their great host Cat. She carries herself well and she shows great love for the dancers and never allows a dancer to leave that stage without her words of encouragement and no matter what is criticed of their performance she always finds something good to point out of the dancers.
I wish the presenters would listen! I’m in South Africa and we watch the show late at night. Unfortunately I can’t hear Mary’s comments coz I have to FF over it else everyone in the house wakes up. She often has the best comments but nowadays i can’t afford to listen it out. I HAVE to go forward over the screaming. No amount of blotting out of sound help. You HAVE to ff over it. Nigel will go deaf soon. Please get it sorted out. I love Mary on the show but now I can’t listen to her at all.
