Top 10 Finalists Revealed On So You Think You Can Dance

Top 10
CAITLIN KINNEY AND PHILLIP CHBEEB ARE ELIMINATED
NOW IT’S UP TO AMERICA AS THE TOP 10 PERFORM WITH NEW PARTNERS WEDNESDAY, JULY 15, ON FOX
The Black Eyed Peas to Perform on Next Results Show Thursday, July 16
Tonight the Top 10 finalists were revealed after Caitlin Kinney and Phillip Chbeeb were eliminated on the summer hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Kinney, 21, is a Contemporary dancer from Annapolis, MD, and Chbeeb, 20, is a Popping dancer from Los Angeles, CA. This week featured a special performance by Kelly Rowland and David Guetta.
The three couples who received the fewest votes after Wednesday’s performance show were: Caitlin Kinney and Jason Glover; Jeanine Mason and Phillip Chbeeb; and Melissa Sandvig and Ade Obayomi. After each of these six dancers performed solo routines, the judges eliminated Kinney and Chbeeb.
Next week, the competition continues on television’s most original dance show when the Top 10 finalists (Kūpono Aweau, Brandon Bryant, Randi Evans, Jason Glover, Evan Kasprzak, Janette Manrara, Jeanine Mason, Ade Obayomi, Kayla Radomski and Melissa Sandvig) compete with new partners on a two-hour performance show Wednesday, July 15 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

for so you think you can dance you guys should come to blue cross arena in rochster new york. or somewhere in rochester new york. i would love to see the show live if it came closer to where i live. i mean i love this show. i am a dancer my self and so i would love to see the show
This year’s dancers are so amazingly talented — I love them all. But I wish two things from the producers:
First time ever commenting on ANY site, but just had to say that my 5 year old daughter absolutely LOVED Caitlin (she loved that she had a gymnastics background and was an older sister, just like her) and is crying because I just revealed the results of the show last night. I am so glad that she will be on tour. We will definitely not miss it now (we’ll be catching the show in Tampa)! We love watching the show as a family (on TIVO the next day :). Thank you for putting on a show that can entertain and inspire a future generation of dancers.
Congrats to top ten! What a fantastic group!
I want to congratulate Mia Michaels , Kupono and Kayla on the Addiction dance. I have watched it 4 times now (which I don’t normally do) and each time it brings tears to my eyes. Beautifully choreographed and danced. Excellence in every way.
We think it is such an upset that Caitlin and Phillip left. We definitely think Melissa and Jason should have gone. That is it. Definitely Caitlin is more of a star.
I just want to say that Kayla and Kupono’s first routine this last week (the contemporary routine, Gravity by Sara Bareilles) really moved me. I lost my father to cancer when I was 21, and for the last 3 years I have been battling with my own personal demons. It seems like the minute I get back to normal, they come back. Mia Michael’s is a brilliant choreographer, and captured my life through a beautiful routine, and I thank Kayla and Kupono for portraying her vision so well because now I feel like I can face every wrong in my life and be a stronger person.
Omg I did not see that comin. I’m glad they are going to be on the tour though.
Well, I agree that Phillip was the one that should have left, but not Kaitlin. I would have thought that Jeanine Mason should have been the one to go. Other than that, I love the show and my grandson who is 2 watches the show and dances over and over to each and every act!
I have gone to the two shows that have come to Rochester, New York. I thought that all the dances and dancers were amazing! Please in the future, try to come to somewhere near by because I know many people would come in a heart beat. I am a dancer and my friends and I love the show and watch it every week! We are sad that Philip and Caitlin got out. We liked Philip a lot, he is very talented! Congrats to the top ten!
i have never watched reality tv, but sytycd has me mesmorized. i can’t wait for wed & thurs nites for the show. and mia michaels “addiction” spot was inspirational and the dancers sent the message. mia is amazing!!!!
I am a little upset with how Nigal phrased the “dance for your life” tonight. He basically said that once they heard who was in the bottom three couples the judges minds were decieded. Why even do it then. I feel the judges should come into it with an open mind. Otherwise their judgement is clouded and they really are not giving each person a chance to change their opinion. Isn’t that the entire point, to give the judges the best performace the dancers can and hope to change their mind. I understand that prior preformances play a role but the judges should go into it each time with an open mind or nothing is going to change that.
I can’t believe Phillip got eliminated!! He was the BEST guy on the show!!
I’m soooo upset that Phillip was eliminated! That’s a serious loss! He was my favourite to watch!
I was sad to see Philip go. I’ve been a fan of his since he first auditioned in Season 3 (or was it 4, I can’t keep track!) You could see he put all his heart and soul in every dance and did the best he could. With more training, I know he will go very far! I’m very glad the producers decided to include him in the tour. He will really add to it and it will be a pleasure to see him dance his own unique style. The only complaint I have with So You Think You Can Dance is the shoddy camera work when showing the dancers dancing their routines. I’ve complained about it before but it continues. Why do they need to do all those strange angles and dizzying movement during the dancers routines? It’s completely unnecessary, annoying, and takes away from the dancing? Why can’t they just do a straight camera shot so that we can appreciate all the intricate moves without feeling like we are getting seasick? That’s my one and only complaint for a fabulous show. I hope this show continues for many many years to come (without the weird camera work)!
there should be a show in dc!!
I was very shocked to see Phillip go!!! I really thought that Jason was gona get voted off.He is not that much of a good dancer to me.
I think that this is quite a fantastic Top 10! Good job, viewers and “jidges!”
But now, since the Top 10 has been decided, the viewers have the final say in determining who is eliminated every week from this point onward, so voters, this is very important: DON’T assume that your favorite contestant is safe, please vote for them anyway. As many people have said, you never really know what will happen with the viewer votes.
Here is a hint: Two of the best contestants this season appear to be Janette and Melissa, so anyone who agrees, please try to vote more for them, and especially if one of them has the number 1-888-TEMPO-01.
I think, once the Top 10 has been chosen, it would be better if there was a “save,” where after the contestants of each gender with the lowest vote counts have been announced, the jidges can save them and no one would get eliminated that week, but just once in each season.
At least Caitlin and Phillip are still going on tour, so that is great. They were such good competitors. Hopefully, they will come back later this season for a guest performance sometime this season and in later seasons as well.
Good luck to all of the Top 10, and let’s hope the viewers get it right! Until then, see you next week!
Very glad they’re taking Caitlin on tour…!
Why so much face time for Gabby Cat Deely…what a waiste, the only thing worse is Mary’s screeching! If Cat needs something to do instead of gabbing so much…have her get her nose straightened and find some heels under 4″…she can’t walk in the ones she wears…isn’t she tall enough??? She must love towering over EVERYONE…YAK, YAK, YAK….SHE ACTS LIKE SHE’S THE PRODUCER…LET US SEE MORE DANCING AND LESS LEFT TURN NOSE!
Caitlin is already a star!! She had so much more to give, would have been great to see her on her own. To bad she was against Melissa and Janine, they have shown more consistency in their performings, with a couple of other girls she would have gone trough, I´m sure..she had such passion and really expressed that on stage. It has been wonderful to watch her. What´s that stupid comment about Cat? She´s so beautiful and looks like a model. And her nose is gorgeous! Really stupid that comment! Anyhow, love from Sweden!
THANK YOU SYTYCD,,,, KAYLA, JANETTE, BRANDON, KUPONO. SHOULD BE TOP 4,, TO ME EVAN AND RANDI ARE REALLY GOOD BUT LACK THAT UMPH THAT THE FIRST 4 MENTIONED DO! AND THE REST ARE JUST KIND OF THERE IN MY MIND!!!!!! GO KAYLA,, YOU DOUBLE DESERVE IT!!!!
I agree with the judges for letting Philip go. He tried but I think he was getting in over his head at this point in the show. At least he gets to tour. Sorry to see Caitlin go but the other women on the show are stronger dancers.
Janette is AMAZING!!! I just loved the Pop Jazz # by Wade Robson that she and Brandon danced. Janette gives her all to every single dance she does and I hope she’s this years top dancer!!! I know I’m voting for her for the rest of the season
phillipp. :’( :’( i crieddd, so sadd, he’s an amazinG! dancerrr. iloveyouphillip.
[...] So You Think You Can Dance – Top 10 Finalists Revealed On So You … By Blogger Tonight the Top 10 finalists were revealed after Caitlin Kinney and Phillip Chbeeb were eliminated on the summer hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Kinney, 21, is a Contemporary dancer from Annapolis, MD, and Chbeeb, 20, … So You Think You Can Dance – http://www.fox.com/blogs/dance/ [...]
I CANT BELIVE THEY GOT RID OF PHILLIP!!!!!!!! im so sad. i love the show and record it every week. they better not get rid of jason or jeanine. or i will be very mad.
I think the show is wonderful, full of talented dancers. I wish all of them the best of luck. I feel that age does matter in a contest of this caliber.
The ballet dancer is wonderful, but her age shows on camera, she looks a a bit seasoned.
Up till the last results show, I was THRILLED to watch the show. I LOVED Phillip, he is the most unique dancer on the whole show, In fact, that I have ever seen. Although the others are all great, NONE OF THEM could do what Phillip can do, which he choreographed himself. The fact is, they all can imitate each other all day long and will all dance so similarly that they could just be another great dancer in the crowd. But Phillip was NOT just another great dancer. I liken him to the Late Great Michael Jackson for his originality. He is absolutely amazing, and I could watch him dance HIS own unique dancing all day. I cannot say the same for the others, they all do virtually the same solos. They are great, but I won’t remember their names either when they win. But I have remembered Phillip and even looked for additional dances from him online. he was given LAME choreography which caused his fans to falter, since we love what HE does, not what he was made to do. I have since took the show off my TIVO, and I know many other people who will not be tuning in either.
Well, I really haven’t seen the talent the judges seem to raving about. Undoubtedly the best season was when Danny, Lacey and Neil competed but the little black girl won. Danny is perhaps the best dancer that has ever appeared on the show. And this season the winner has already been tapped by the judges. If Brandon doesn’t win, Mary Murphy and Lithgoe will commit suicide. The writing is on the wall. Lithgoe needs to excuse himself from the judging panel as he is obviously trying to be a Simon Cowell ripoff with one exception…Cowell is a professional. Three years ago a black girl won it with no professional training; last year a short fat black guy won it and this year a short black guy is going to win again. Lithgoe doesn’t base his opinions on talent but on the logistics of the show and this is so obvious. Black or white, all the dancers are talented…but when black guy was eliminated a couple of weeks ago, lithgoe, who had been on to him for not showing more personality, was praising the guy for his amazing stage presence. What he was dismissed for was the fact he was continually in bottom three so therefore drawing less of an audience, not his talent. Lithgoe you’re not appealing with your horse teeth and you should be behind the scenes instead of trying to steal them.
I am proud of the judges this past week. I think they did a great job with recognizing the dancer’s talents while using positive constructive criticism when needed. SYTYCD is such an exciting show to watch. I never realized there was so much unknown talent out there!
i agree.i love jeanine and janette.phillip,we will miss you.I hate losing any of them now, i think they are all amazing.
Yeah for the two people who requested it be in Rochester, NY again or at least nearby. I love this show and the young dancers are amazing. Kudos to the excellent choreographers.
I absolutely love Brandon and Janette. OMG they are amazing! I was sad to see Caitlin and Philip go. I am going to hate to see anyone leave from now on. Janette and Brandon are my favorite dancers and I personally am sad that they will not be dancing together any more.
I DISAGREE WITH THE JUDGES!!!!!!!! Phillip should NOT HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO GO!!!!! I think he is awesome and has proven himself week after week. The judges MADE A MISTAKE in choosing him. HE IS A VERY TALENTED DANCER.
I think all of the dancers are amazing and talented but it seems odd that certain dancers get to showcase their specific strengths week after week and continue to get the better pieces to perform. It would be nice to see all of the dancers have to perform one number that is the same for everyone in addition to a piece choreographed by the celeb choreographers. As much as I love seeing their work it sure isn’t fair to the dancer that pulls the Russian Folk Dance or the Alien Dance when you are up against a Tabitha and Napolean or a Mia piece! Why the heck does Melissa get to do a style that doesn’t challenge her every show and I really want to see her do a gangster hip hop!!!!
Hey guys and girls. I agree with Walker’s comments from above: protect your favorite! It’s now up to us. Last year I made the mistake of trying to protect Katie thinking my favorite was safe. That week my favorite got voted off the show in what the fans and the judges considered the shocker of the year. Thinking your fav is safe will be your fav’s greatist danger. No one is safe, not even as early as next week.
Congratulations to the Top 10. I will miss Phillip and Caitlin, but the field is so strong this year, that every elimination will be tough from this point on. I am thrilled they will be on tour. Usually at this point in the season, I have my clear cut favorite. Well, I love them all this year! Thank you for sharing such incredible talent with all of us. A special congratulations to Mia, Kupono, and Kayla for the SIMPLY AMAZING piece this week. I have watched it over ten times and I am blown away every single time. Additonal congratulations to Wade, Brandon, and Jeanette for such a technically perfect and purely entertaining routine. See you all in Austin!
Janette and Brandon are perhaps two of the best performers and entertainers on the show! As a team they bring excitement and talent to each performance. Kayla and Jeanine are also fantastic! I think it would be great to have a DVD season collection! Don’t you think it would be great! I would buy it! Anything we can do to continue to foster and promote dance the better!!
jason is by far the best guy on the show and is going to go very far
Wasn’t a fan of Phillip, although he had some interesting qualities. I AM a fan of Melissa, and Evan. Hope they are both “keepers” until the end!
GO EVAN!!
I am shocked by how Philip Chbeeb got kicked off after last weeks performance easily being the best hip hop routine ever being on that show …. I don’t think people realized how amazing that really was and it’s really to bad he should of made the top 10 for sure!
I am really upset that he didn’t make it but for him things are just getting started he is going to rip it and become HUGE! I know we will see him on ABDC soon
JANETTE MANRARA AND JEANINE MASON ARE THE MOST AMAZING DANCERS ON THIS SHOW! ALONG WITH BRANDON BRYANT OF COURSE..
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALL OF THEM
BRING THAT TITLE BACK HOME JANETTE!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!
I think that the top 10 has turned out to be a pretty good group this year.
I don’t really care for Evan all that much now that his brother isn’t there to give him a personality, he doesn’t really have one on stage. We haven’t really seen Melissa do anything that doesn’t showcase her ballet training so who knows how much of a train wreck it will be when she gets something like hip hop.
My favorites so far this season are Brandon and Janette (I love how they always did amazing no matter what they were thrown) Kayla and Ade.
i gotta be honest i wasnt very into this season of sytycd. just lost a little intrest i think. but i tuned in EVERY week just to see philip, id sit through all the other performances just to see him dance. he was so good and so amazing and when they eliminated him i honestly couldnt believe it. so sad. just dont think i wanna watch the rest of the season without him
I’m very upset that phillip was voted off. He was the best guy on the show. Has showed so much growth and I thought thats what the show was about. Jason has had more training and he’s not showing any growth or change week to week and this is why he’s always in the bottom 3. it was his time to go, I mean come on…3 stikes you’re out. America will vote Jason out next week.
I must say that seing Phillip go was a sad moment for me.
He is a terrific dancer.
He has what a lot of dancers seek throughout their journey,a style that is as unie & ,as strong as he is.
Looking forward Phillip,to see you on the top 10 tour, where you truly deserve to be.
But these thrilling performance challenges, these sad goodbyes,,the growth, and victories of dance is what the competition is all about.
The show goes on…and I anxiously await countless pleasures watching these amazing dancers perform for us!
Good luck to all.To my favorites,Lgo get’em”!!!
I agree with many of the above comments that Melissa hasn’t been given a challenging piece yet. It will be interesting to see her dance a hip hop number. I personally think last season’s dancers were more talented and had more unique personalities. I will say that my favorite dance of the season thus far was Kayla and Kupono’s contemporary dance this week. It was so beautiful and it you could really feel and believe the emotion behind it. Great Job!
I would LOVE to see a change in the rules for the first few weeks of the competition that would allow viewers (and judges!) to keep an open mind instead of just latching on to their favorites. The dancers have gotten better over the past few seasons (Tony reminded me of Ivan on S2 who made it into top ten), which means eliminations are more dependent on luck. Many fans pick a favorite in week one (or worse yet, based on face-time in Vegas) and vote for them week after week whether they dance well or not. The judges’ manipulation to protect their favorites has become more and more blatant — ranging from style choices (ballet, soft, suburban hip-hop), to “special” choreography meant to fit the pair (Addiction piece, lifts everywhere for Mel/Ade), to commentary (90% negative for pairs targeted to be cut while that poor samba –we are talking worse-than-Phillip’s-tango-poor — is quickly swept under the carpet and they gush 90% of the time about how cute the pair is), to eliminations (where what they say they are looking for completely contradicts whom they eliminate). Judging for SYTYCD used to be objective and constructive; now it has become the “Dancing-with-your-foot-in-your-mouth” portion of the program.
Giving all bottom-three a second chance would help eliminate the frantic voting for favorites that danced poorly. A bonus week One where no one gets eliminated would be super. But even if an extra week is impossible, two pairs could be eliminated in an unspecified later week to trim down to ten by the designated time. It would actually make the results show more exciting — if zero, one, or two pairs may end up leaving. After repeat bottom-three results, dancers could still save themselves by their solos to move on as an extra pair– right now “dancing for your life” is meaningless b/c the judges decide ahead of time whom they will get rid of.
Swapping partners right from the beginning may result in fans actually watching the competition to decide who was best (as opposed to just keeping their thumbs on re-dial for one pair) and better assessment of a dancer’s versatility.
It would also be helpful to keep a nice spectrum of balance from traditional to unusual dances per show to give all dancers a chance at viewer votes. (Just like there are usually two/three ballroom numbers, not zero or five.) If 50% of the numbers on one show are quirky, this significantly reduces the voter pool for these numbers. There are not enough voters who appreciate hip-hop to sustain two hard-hitting numbers per show (at least one of them should be soft). Ballet may not be feasible for girls not trained in toe-shoes but a “classical” choice does not necessarily have to be danced en pointe.
Just some ideas…but I really think it would be great to get the show back to integrity and genuine appreciation of great dance instead of playing favorites.
I kept watching the whole episode ever since Season 5 was started. The Top 10 really live up to the name of DANCER.
All the dancers this year are crazy talented!!!! I love them all especially kayla and melissa. Its going to be so hard to pick a winner
So mad phillip got elimiated
He was the only guy on the show i liked
Does anyone else wish they’d have two winners by the end? One male, one female? I mean, they go through most of the competition dancing with a partner, right? These kind of shows aren’t as much fun the more people get eliminated. I was really sad to see Phillip go–I just wanted to give him a big hug!
I am interested in the comments about Melissa and her ballet training. Last week I posted about how Melissa and Ade pulled a Pas de Deux from the bag for the 2nd time and how Vitollio and Karla got the Quickstep! However, for people to say that Melissa has not been challenged is a lack of respect for the discipline of ballet. At any GOOD studio children who compete in dance all compelled to take ballet in addition to their other classes. Ballet is the fundamental basics, most dancers on SYTYCD have specialized in Contemporay, but to think that any trained dancer has not taken a couple of years of ballet or jazz would be foolish. Most dancers have not done any ballroom style dances, or partner duos for that matter and with ballroom the dance requires posture, extensions, poise, grace and strength than clearly a ballet dancer has an inherent advantage. Melissa has shown just how versatile that ballet training is. This is a strong top 10 and I look forward to watching next week.
PS I guess the producers do read these comments as it was very interesting to hear Nigel talk about the Dance for your Life farce that has taken place this season……Ohhh so they do know who’s in the bottom 3 and have talked earlier…… Ohh and there is a chance that someone can dance their way out of the bottom 3…but…… at least that is over for the rest of the show.
I’ve never posted on an open blog like this before.
If he doesn’t get a career in dancing I’d love to see him hit the big screen. With a little drama coaching I think he could entertain us for hours. hint hint HOLLYWOOD !!!!
I’m so bummed the judges and/or producers did not feel that Philip was up for the challenge. I disagree. I’m actually quite surprised that Nigel didn’t want him to stay on given that he so entertaining. At least from a Producer stand point he should have seen that. Philip reminds me of Jerry Lewis & I can’t believe Nigel has not seen that himself (or at least he’s not publicly announced it). I know Jerry Lewis is an actor/comedian from the good old days (before my time even) and not a dancer, but I feel that Philip can do all three. He is a great actor in his dances and displays his character perfectly, he also seems to have a great since of humor & the bonus is that he dances great.
I’ll try my hardest to catch this tour when they come out west.
I love the show & so glad glad I don’t have to wait another year to see the next season after this one is over. I’m very excited they have decided to put a winter season on TV. It gives us all something cheerful to enjoy during the cold season.
Thank you for that.
I really can’t stand Cat and I wish they would get a new host!
Gee… way to cut everything but contemporary there guys! Way to showcase all the styles of dance on the tour. :/
SYTYCD is an amazing show, I’m not a professional dancer but, i always get inspired just by watching the show. I hope Ade or Brandon can win first place!!! I love when people express their dance exactly to what the music is portraying. God bless you all just incredible!!! Phillip we will miss you!
I rarely watch TV, especially reality shows. SYTYCD has me hooked! There is so much incredible talent on this show and it is indeed sad each week to see two more performers cut from the competition. They are all so amazing with their own special talents! I love them all but must say that I have a special place in my heart for Evan and Randi! I hate to see that partnership broken. They were made to dance together! I have enjoyed this show since season one, but have never picked up the phone to vote until I saw Evan and Randi perform together on this seasons first episode. I have been voting for them every week since then. What a great show! Thanks!
Very disappointed in who they kicked off last week! Melissa and Ade should have left. I’m sorry but Phillip has grown more then any of them for being the type of dancer he is. He shows wonderful talent and a great future, they screwed him over.
Also, Caitlin has done so well over the past couple weeks, I cannot say the same for Melissa. I hope she’s the first to go next week.
I absolutely love this season. It’s really hard to eliminate who after the first week because everyone is really talented in their own style and whatever the choreography they are thrown at, some how they made it work. As Sean Cheesman said “A dancer is someone who makes their style their own!” I do agree with that. The choreography has been really amazing this season with Louis Van Amsteel, our Stacey Tookey (i got more excited seeing her and she’s so fabulously talented!!) Tabby Nap, JM and France, and Wade Robson really amazed me with his stuff…especially the last dance…that’s my favourite!!
The judges I love them…Nigel really made me laugh this season especially when Mary’s going on the hot tamale train and I love Adam…he made me laugh on teh first week….and the rest of them…wonderful.
This is the best top ten I’d seen on the American show, since I’d seen the first season of the Canadian show and I find that they do evenly match. However, no Twitch which is kind of hard but he’s a hell of a dancer and performer.
It’s going to get harder and harder to eliminate those top ten since they are all amazing. I love of all them for very different reason. Jeanine is very much the dark horse and am glad she emerged out of Philip’s shadow, Melissa’s of course…shares my name lol so I got a soft spot for her and she’s the ballerina…just like Allie on SYTYCD Canada…Kayla’s is frickin amazing…OMG and jawgas, Janette is one hot tamale herself and she’s a fabulous dancer even without Brandon, and Randi’s a firecracker….she was definitely the stronger dancer to Evan.
Kupono…god he’s sexy…and a brilliant dancer…I love him in the Mia Michaels number he did….Ade, he’s the unsung hero and dark horse…I love the leaps he does and he partnered Melissa brilliantly…reminds me of Joshua, Brandon’s the favourite I know and he’s amazing dancer. I would like to him in something with Mia because she will push and get the best out of him…Jason’s really surprised me since I thought he was going rather than Philip but he, too is a strong dancer and he’s a cutie…and Evan’s another cutie but I think he needs to pull up his socks to compete with the other girls…all the girls are strong dancers and may overshadow him. I know he’s popular but for how long, remains to be seen.
I am so excited about tonight show…almost scared to see who will be paired up with who.
Keep it up with the good work Nigel, Mary and the judges…I just love you guys and you guys rock!!! Keep screaming Mary cause we love it when you do!
I am happy!
LOVE WATCHING BRANDON AND JEANETTE. THEY ARE A POWER COUPLE. ALL THEIR DANCES WERE INCREDIBLE!!!!
JEANINE IS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING. CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HER AND BRANDON DANCE TOGETHER. THEY WILL BE ON THE SHOW TILL THE END
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH…SO SAD ITS COMING TO AN END!! GOOD LUCK TO THEM ALL!1
Can someone please give me the telephone number so I can vote? I have 1-888-8376 and then I know you put down the last two digits for who you want but this is not correct. Please help!!
You know, the top ten this year are fabulous! I been longing an African routine and I finally got it today!!!! Excellent choreography and all the guys killed it!! And I must say ADE you r an excellent dancer….being nigerian and representing makes us proud! I really admire u and I wish you the best of luck! To the rest of the dancers u guys are a gift….and believe or not you are an inspiration to a lot of us who love to dance…Good luck to all!
I have to say, they are all very good dancers. This is a fantastic season. But my favorite and who i think is just is Kupono . HE is hot hot hot…
I have been a loyal viewer for years! Love the show and how much it allows dancers to be stars when normally they are in the background of some music video…
I have to say that it feels like the show is somewhat “rigged” sometimes with the dances the pairs pull. Some dancers seem to have bad luck and you have to realize when producing these shows that some styles are more audience friendly than others. The Russian folk dance was ridiculous… I like that you highlight dances from all over the world, but please choose styles that are actually challenging and entertaining.
I agree with an earlier poster that they should have to have a new partner each week. Regardless of height, style, any other factor, they should have to really be pushed each week. One gregarious dancer can carry another based on their popularity alone. The dances should also be filtered out if they have been overdone… If a quick-step is a kiss of death - STOP DOING IT. Maybe even have a themed show “Ballroom” or “Latin” or “Hip Hop” so that you can compare apples to apples…
Hea you guys just be careful when you are dancing to other dances of other cultures. Some things that you do that you think is funny can be offensive to another culture!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!!!!! I officially obsessed!!
I was a dancer for 9 yrs and the talent exposed on this show is OUTSTANDING!
Loved Jeanine and Jason’s piece on 07-15. WOW!
Im a BIG fan!!!
BTW, sorry but judge Mary is super ANNOYING. I can’t stand her very HIGH pitch.
Ok, I am watching this show right now and I am VERY UPSET! ADE is one of the Bottom Twoand he is one of the stronger dancers. This is a professional dance show and they are letting teenie’s (America) decide who goes home. This turns the show from a dance contest to a populartity contest. I feel the professional judges should decide who goes home. They know what dance is all about Not the people calling in. This turns the show into a Joke! I am very upset with the way they decided to let the callers decide who goes home without any professional input! I hope next seson they keep the decision up to professionals.
Im just disappointed about this WHOLE season…not sayin that they weren’t good but i just didnt see anything that caught my eyes as much this season. I did absolutely love Kupono & Kayla’s “Addiction” dance it was touching and beautiful. but i still have to say ive definitely seen betta seasons…sorry guys….good luck with everthing though….
Every week the Toronto Star newspaper list SYTYCD Wednesday night as the number one watched summer show in Canada, with number two going to SYTYCD Thursday. I’m proud to play a small part in this! My girlfriend and my buddies make fun of me, but every Wednesday and Thursday my cat, Mr. Perfect, and I curl up on the couch and watch every single riveting second of those dancers. I saw Phillip as a real threat to my guy Evan, but now he’s gone, I am going to miss his charm and creativity!….What’s with all the meaness about Cat Deeley? She is always warm and regal, and after someone is eliminated, so motherly and comforting. The next time something major goes wrong in my life, like getting downsized, or being at fault in a car accident, there’s nobody I’d like better than putting their arm around my shoulder and saying, “while they’re towing that car away, let’s let our TV audience see some of your greatest moments!”…….and I sometimes get lost in the judging procedures, but I beg to differ with those who feel the judging is biased or incompetent….Nigel and Mary seem pretty straight-up to me, even when they are being critical….all I can say is I’d rather bear Nigel or Mary’s remarks while I was being cut from SYTYCD than the two-faced praise I’ve had from several incompetent bosses I’ve worked for!!!!!!
If Melissa makes it to next week, I think that she should do a classical ballet number for her solo. Her solo this week was more of the same. Show case your style…firebird, swan lake, nutcracker, whatever just take the risk.
The piece on breast cancer was beautiful. Thank you Melissa & Ade.
I wonder if anyone reading this message can get it to Nigel. A 14 year old friend of ours just lost her 15 year old sister to cancer last night. She loves to dance and I’m sure she was watching Tice’s piece on Wednesday night. The erieness of this piece being performed within 24 hours of Taylor’s passing was rough for many of us. If there’s something Nigel can do for Taylor’s sister to ease the pain of her loss and make her focus on the positive even if just for an evening (i.e. tickets to a show) it would be tremendously appreciated.
Thank you.
I love the show. I’ve been watching since Season 1. I have loved all of the dancing and have been touched by some but the piece last night ( July 22 ) about breast cancer touched me so much that I ( like everyone there) cried. I don’t let my emotions get in the way but it happened last night. Thank you Tice and So you think you can dance for allowing your audience feel this number. This season have so many wonderful dancers that I couldn’t pick a favorite. I hate to see any of them leave. To bad they all couldn’t win this season. That’s how good they all are.
Kayla Radomski is a cheater. She’s been Brian Freedman’s assistant since she was 15 years old. Last year Debbie Allan had to step down as a judge so her proteje could compete.. so why is Kayla allowed to have a dance choreographed by Brian Freedman?! She’s also toured as an assistant to Mia Michaels, and she is being judged by her. HOW IS THIS FAIR YOU TELL ME?!
jeanette is gone ????????????? what the h!@# are you kidding me
I’m SOOOOOO mad Janette went home. Brandon and Janette were my favorites and it was the biggest surprise that they were both in the bottom. Melissa and Evan were the ones I wanted to see go home.
Melissa hasn’t shown that she deserved to be here as much as Janette, the girl who keeps up with the amazing Brandon and has nailed EVERY single dance. Melissa has had it easy and how ironic that SHE got ballet! Ugh lets see her do hiphop, she could barely do the cha cha.
Melissa and Evan YES are good dancers but are not as extraordinary as Brandon and JANETTE! Americas messed it up with Janette and the better not mess it up with Brandon!!!!!
Something up with the voting. For several weeks now, you can vote from a land line for the first 10 to 15 minutes, but the cell phones get a busy signal. Now it is starting to hit and miss where ever call completes from the house phone, but can’t get through not one time with the cell phone. I think this is sad to manipulate the voting like that.
