Top 4 Finalists Revealed on So You Think You Can Dance
Brandon Bryant, Evan Kasprzak, Jeanine Mason and Kayla Radomski were named SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’s Top 4 finalists after host Cat Deeley revealed that Melissa Sandvig, 29, a Ballet dancer from Los Alamitos, CA and Ade Obayomi, 20, a Contemporary dancer from Orange County, CA were eliminated from the competition.
The two-night, four-hour season finale of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE promises to be the series’ most spectacular showdown ever! The Top 4 will compete one last time in the hopes of winning America’s vote and the title of America’s Favorite Dancer, a $250,000 cash prize and a featured spot on the cover of the November issue of Dance Spirit magazine. Judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, as well as guest judges Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Adam Shankman and Debbie Allen, will offer critiques on the final performances of the season. Broadcast for the first time from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, the finale will air Wednesday, Aug. 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Aug. 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
In addition to naming America’s Favorite Dancer, the two-hour live finale will feature performances by this season’s Top 20 dancers, Hip Hop dance team The Rage Boyz Crew and Talia Fowler, winner of Season Two of “So You Think You Can Dance Australia.” The celebration will also showcase encore performances of the Judges’ favorite routines from Season Five.

As I said before, this really is the cruelest cut of all. ANY two contestants could have been eliminated this week.
For this season, I wish that there could be room for six finalists, since they all seem so talented and attractive, but, as always, there is only room for four.
I don’t think that Ade should have been eliminated at this time, but as I said earlier, anything can happen with the viewer votes. I wish him good luck in the future. For sure, he will make it big in his career.
And as for Melissa, at least she got really far, especially for a ballerina. I wish her really good luck in the future. For certain, she will be successful. Hopefully, she will come back and do some guest appearances sometime next season and in later seasons. Maybe she’ll open up a ballet studio, if she hasn’t already. And maybe she’ll start a breast cancer awareness foundation, too.

even though kayla and jeanine are the same age it appears that Jeanine acts much more mature than kayla. of course that doesn’t really have anything to do with the results. just an observation.

If there is any way to get a message to the producers of the show PLEASE acknowledge and reward the amazing people in your costume department who have done an incredible job this season! All great performances take talented dancers, good music and fitting costumes to make the performances special. The music is canned, but the costumes aren’t off the rack by any stretch. I hope the producers can find a way to showcase these very talented people.

Congratulations to the four dancers in the finale, of course. It has been a weekly source of joy to watch all of the dancers hone their craft and expand their repertoires. Hard work never looked so fun and effortless. Any individual in the group of the top eight could have been named America’s Favorite Dancer, but all of them should remember that in the eyes of the viewers every single one of them has hundred of thousands of people who have said, “That’s my favorite.” What a wonderful thing to be able to entertain and inspire millions with the awesome power and beauty of what you love to do.
I am 70 years young and this is one of my favorite shows. My favorite dancer is Evan and so happy he is in the top four and he does remind me of Gene Kelly.
I’m glad that Kayla and Brandon made it to the top 4. The only finalist I don’t agree with is Evan. He definately has the popularity vote but lacks the technique required for many of the other genre’s of dance that Ade had. I was hoping Jeanette and Ade would have made it to the finals. Oh well. At least two of my favorites are in.
I really enjoyed the show last night despite the elimination of Melissa and Ade.
It was great to see the Emmy nominated dance routines from last season; especially Mark and Chelsea.

Sorry! I still cannot believe that Jeanette was eliminated and that Jeanine is still there !! America truly got it wrong !! However, that being said, Brandon is the hands down winner! I have been a long time watcher of the show, and if there is one thing that I have noticed . . . a black man does not seem to win these things on this show! I am not black, but I can tell you, while I really loved the girl who won last season, America got that wrong as well, as her male black competitor should have won hands down! She was great, but she just was not as good as him.
I hope this does not happen again this year! VOTE for talent . . . not looks!

I can’t believe Evan made it to the finale. I’m still in shock about Jeanette…and I was blown away when Ade got booted instead of Evan. I’ve been rooting for Brandon all season so I still hope he is the last one standing. Kudos to the finalists. They’ve all worked hard.

Congraulations to the final four contestants. However I would like to say I do not believe Ada should not have been voted off. I also think that the criticism he received on Wednesday night from the judges was harsh and overly critical. It was almost as if he had suddenly become someone else that they never saw dance before. He was not bad at all. I commend you Ada for keeping a stiff upper lip and not allowing the criticism to break you.

Ade, if you get this message…keep dancing!! I am not as excited for the finale knowing that Evan is there instead of Ade. Evan is great in his genre but his couples dancing with anyone other than Randi isn’t up near Ade’s level.

I was quite saddened to see that Melissa and Ade were not among the final four. It has been a particularly tough year to judge because all of the top 20 dancers are so amazingly talented. Unless they are all great actors as well, they all exhibit great respect for each other, very refreshing in today’s cynical world. I look forward to seeing the top 10 dance together again on tour. I received a recommendation to watch SYTYCD a little past half the season last year and was hooked. I haven’t missed a show since, which is unusual for me because I don’t watch a lot of TV. This show is ten times better than Dancing with the Stars.
That said, I’m throwing in my hat for Cat who has received some criticism on this blog. I think she is the best female hostess I’ve ever seen. She has glamour, confidence, and IT. Sure she’s not a Vanna White type hostess. She bold and assertive. A new image for women that I think has been a long time due.
And I simply love Crazy Mary. She’s got to be one of the sincerest down to earth people on TV. I love her enthusiasm, screaming and all. Why some of the bloggers are turned off by the fun she brings to the show I’ll never know. But, I hope that other bloggers that feel the same as I will make their voices heard.
Good Luck to all. My favorite is Brandon. Skill, skill, skill, he is a dancer just like Janette was. Hated to see her go. I like Evan, but this should not be just a popularity contest. I really hope in the future only one vote or a limited voting allowed. Ahh fans will find ways to go around anything. I really believe that the judges should still have at least 50% of the right to choose; like “Dancing with the stars”. In any event..Go Brandon!!
I am truly disappointed , that the judges and the viewers ( voters ) could not clearly see, ADE, and the remarkable, entertaining , professional , and talented DANCER, along with BRANDON. In my eyes. ( from the start of the show, ADE ) has proven that he is the greatest . most strongest , graceful DANCER that the show, has seen before. I’m sorry, but EVAN is no comparison to ADE. Somehow, someway, America ( I believe ) went to sleep, during the show. Brandon, I can truly say, deserve to be amongst the top 4, but Evan (NOT), Evan, if you really watch him, will see that he has nothing to bring to Dancing, compared to —ADE and BRANDON. ( EVAN JUST DONT HAVE IT. If you or when you take notice , you will see that EVAN does the same old old tired dance. He should not at this time , still be a contender on the show. Some of the comments and reviews about Evan have been rather cruel. He worked hard and is wonderful in his style. He displayed humility unlike Brandon and Kayla. I felt Ade was lost in the performances with Melissa, he did not really get a chance to shine. I voted for Evan because if his attitude and performances and his work ethic, he is not a selfish dancer like some of them are. I adore Jeanine, she has the same spirit as Evan, they don’t think more of themselves than necessary. I would be happy if either Evan or Jeanine won.

I was stunned that Ade was not in the final. Evan? Are you kidding… Technically he can’t hold water next to Ade. Unbelievable! I’m glad that Brandon and Kayla made it. They are awesome to watch! I’m sad to see Melissa go. I thought that Ade and Melissa were pure magic when they danced together. Too bad a lot of this is popularity over technique (Evan).
Joshua was the winner last season! A black man. What is wrong with you people. Ade should not have been voted off. Evan should have. Ade you were great!
I am thrilled that Evan and Jeanine made the finale. They are my favorites to win because of their performances and the humility they showed throughout the season. Brandon and Kayla are just the opposite, the are haughty and arrogant. I will give them credit for their ability but that’s all. This show has proven that personality also plays a role in who is the winner. I prefer a humble performer, they appreciate their fans and those that support them. I wish Evan and Jeanine the best of luck, they are both wonderful entertainers.
Although I am pretty angry that Ade got booted off instead of a certain other male, broadway dancer, I will say congrats to ALL of the finalists and good luck! My fingers are crossed that it’ll be a girl this year, but really, I’ll be happy for whomever wins!
Wow !! What a season – any one of the dancers could be a contest winner. Next week will be exciting. In reading some of the other blogs I saw that another person mentioned a review of what the previous top 20 dancers – from past seasons- are doing- this would be really interesting. Would be great to see how they’ve moved on after the show.

The final four are all wonderful dancers and any one of them would make a fine choice for Favourite Dancer in their own way. My personal picks are either Brandon or Kayla. Both danced incredibly strong together and solo on Wednesday night. How they did that Disco routine I don’t know but it was one of the hottest of the season!
As I mentioned last week, I really thought Melissa and Ade should have gone home despite the routine about breast cancer. It simply bought them another week, and we lost better dancers (who to me should have been in the Final Four) as a result. Nigel did mention that people shouldn’t vote for the choreography but they will anyway and the producers have no one to fault but themselves. Some changes are in order for next season.
Im really glad that Jeanine made it she has been my favorite the whole season. She has so much talent and im impressed with her jumps. I love that she can dance with anyone of the dancers and not have a problem adjusting to them, for instance Philip he was so amazing at hip hop and Jeanine’s first number was with him in hip hop she was so impressive to keep up with him like that. I hope she wins i think she is America’s top dancer. (if i could vote she would have my vote)

Evan is not worthy of being a finalist and I am disappointed in this show for letting him get this far. As a former dancer, it is appalling to see a talent such as Ade leave the show. This show has let too much go to the untrained eye of the common viewer in America. Evan may be a talented dancer, but he has not had one performance that has been memorable in the entire season, not one! Once again, the most talented has been cut for someone who got more votes. It’s just piss poor. I don’t know how you can call this a reasonable dance show, or be proud of the results. In touting the best dancer, Nigel and other producers have traded for the farce of the most popular. Boo…that’s all I have to say.
ADE – you are awesome! we have been watching the show since the first episode and you are a STAR of this show, just like Brandon and Kayla.

Ade was brilliant…his attitude was so calm though maybe people thought he didn’t really care about the show….but he is a beautiful, graceful dancer. I simply adored him.
The judges were so unnecessarily mean on him and I have a feeling they did it on purpose…how come no one has picked on Kayla for her lack lustre solos…she really has no personality…its so unfair the way they kept her and voted off people who worked really hard…
PLEASE I pray that either Kayla or Brandon wins. I have loved both of them from the beginning. But EVAN???? Who is voting for him? Over Ade? He should have been gone long ago. He has some talent, but compared to the other dancers, he’s not even close. And I must add that I was very upset that Jeanette was eliminated.

The finals are biased toward male dancers because so many teenage girls watch and vote on the show.
To whom it may concern, I have been dancing for fourteen years and would love it if there were to be an audition held in New Hampshire. It has been a dream of mine to show people my style of dance as well as learning many others. If there is to be an audition in New Hampshire my dream will have come true even just for the chance.

With such talented dancers on the show this season, it’s a shame that the popularity vote is allowed with one blogger even saying she voted over a thousand times! The number of votes should be limited each phone number. With that said, I’ve been a strong fan of Brandon and Kayla since their first appearances! Brandon has the most rhythm this season as I believe Will did last season. I think Jeannette was also so talented, and a possible “save” could be allowed if a dancer goes into the bottom dancers for the first time. Ade also was a stong and deserving dancer. Evan being in the top 4 doesn’t seem fair, especially to his partner. His inability to give the girls confidence in the lifts, etc. has eliminated most girls he’s been with. More voters should go with the overall performances instead of the dances done that night, as Nigel has said. The judges have been right on with their comments and will hopefully have votes the entire season this coming fall.
I’ll have to sya that three of the top four were in my wishes for the top four.
Since the season started the judges have been Propping Kayla up, from hearing her personal story, and listening to the judges week after week, she needs to learn disappointment and sacrifice. she has not yet had to sacrifice anything to do something she loves. SO she’s got great lines, so what. Watching her solos she throws in far too many kicks and tricks that show off her legs and very little actual dancing. Though I know the votes will go the wya they go, I honestly believe it would do her a world of good to end up second place to Jeanine. THough I had wished her to be voted many weeks ago.
I too was disappointed and shocked when Jeanette went home. Every week she nailed it, each performance was better than the last (the tango and that jazz routine are by far my favorites) SHe was such fun to watch.
I have been overall sadly disappointd with this season. The talent was far greater last year, with the choreography that much more difficult and challenging for *all* of the couples not just a handful. This season’s over simplistic choreography and the great number of the dancers who just aren’t living up to such incredibly simplistic choreography boggles the mind. There were a few who stood out for me, Randi and Evan, Brandon and Janette, Jeanine, Asuka, Ade, Max; this year. I’m hopeful that this week will be interesting, and that maybe for once the judges will stop gushing over Kayla’s lines and pay attention to talent..

Wow people!!!! I have been reading these Blogs all season and there are some really CRUEL comments here.
“I’m going to stop watching”; just because your Favorite Dancer was voted off ??? Some of you are really BASHING the dancers, the Age group of other bloggers, the judges, producers, choreographers, voters and the whole show in general.
It’s a reality TV show….it’s not perfect. Really, what other show let’s us; it’s public get to step into the lives and performances of some really amazing dancers? We also get to enjoy and maybe, learn to appreciate different styles of dancing, choreography and even the music that is played during the routines.
Once in a while we get to hear what professional dancers and teachers are actually critiquing in certain dance styles.
All of the dancers on the show are getting some great exposure to, and learning from; all that encompasses the life of a professional dancer. Kudos to all the dancers!

I think that every one in the top 4 are brilliant dancers in their own styles. Personally, Ade is my pick over Evan. I enjoy seeing Evan do his style (Broadway) and I enjoy watching Ade do almost any style. He has been my favorite from the beginning and I hate that he is no longer on the show.
Jeanine has made impressive growth throughout this season. She wasn’t one of my favorite’s at the start, but the change that she has gone through as a dancer is truly inspiring. This show gives people the opportunity to try styles they never have before, and I think Jeanine and Jannette showed how versatile they both were and how much they could each grow.
Brandon and Kayla are both great dancers. I have been disappointed in Kayla’s solos recently, but she certainly has talent. Brandon is a great dancer as well and I enjoy watching them both. However, there is something about them, I don’t know what it is, but I don’t like it.

Thank you Trish – the performers this year were truly amazing – all 20 of them. I agree that some of the dancers voted off earlier showed some amazing talent. I think the dancers were better this season than in seasons passed.
Brandon’s improved solo was awe inspiring, every muscle was defined in his routine. Janine, Evan, and Melissa all improved their solos too. Kayla kept to the same routine, hope she bumps it up a notch for next week. Ade was good with his gymnastics and strength. Evan was praised earlier by the judges for his partner lift strength – those who think broadway routines and dancers are wimpy will have to try for themselves. Those of us who watch instead of do can critique but not criticize.
You are all such incredible dancers! It is almost impossible to choose the favorite dancer, because you are all so enjoyable to watch. I cannot believe that Kayla and Jeanine are only 18. You are all so young, strong, dedicated and intelligent! Congrats on being on the show to you and the top 12!! I loved everyone! I hope there are many opportunities for these wonderful dancers in the future. We love seeing them every week! My only complaint is that the prize is only $250,000.00! All the other reality and game shows are a million or more. What’s up with that!
No one has criticized the amazing talent and ability of Broadway dancers or routines. Only one dancer who happened to perform Broadway was critiqued for his weakness in lifting the girls. Melissa mentioned that she hoped he could catch her before one routine last week, and we could see how she lacked the confidence to leap into his arms from across the stage as she had with Ade and Brandon previously. Each dancer has had his/her own talents, but the last remaining 4 should bring an excellence to techniques, as the judges have said. This last episode should prove to be quite exciting!
Hi everyone!!! I am a dancer and have been since I was 4. I really love all of the dancers that try out for the show and give it their all and do the best their bldy can. As a dacner, I know that not all the time things go your way and you wish you could do better, but I think all dancers should just remember the steps, smile, and show you are happy to dance and show your gift to the world. I really enjoy watching the show, I am a ballet dancer so watching Melissa has made me a better dancer as well as many other of my friends and other dancers. Everyone please, tell your friends to vote and their friends. The dancers really all deserve this, but I think all of America should vote for this amazing thing. Vote for the person who brings tallent every week and has a smile that shines through and that is a person who maybe did not have the money or whatever. Think of what each dancer does and if you could do it. I mean all you people are criticizing evan and others and it’s not right. Could you do what they do?? Well you think you can but once you try, you got it all wrong. Haha. Well im a dancer and as you may know dancers are hard core. We work our butts off and I hope you can see that!!!

Please, I dont mean to be rude but I think that anyone except Evan should win and i get that people think he is so but cute and amazing, but the other dancers have really shown there true colors and that they are brilliant.

Being Canadian means I can’t vote on SYTYCD- frustrating. Top 20 are all amazing dancers with standards definitely higher this year. Shocked that Janette,Melissa and Ade are not among the top 4 (hope they get great dancing opportunities in future to make up). America definitely got it right with Brandon though and I hope he realizes that he has proved himself to be a strong contender (can’t believe there were any doubts to begin with)! For the rest give it your all +show your personality. You need to do solos like Jason’s, Brandon’s, or Evan’s(nice to see Broadway). Kayla you have beautiful lines but show your personality. Good luck everyone. Dance your hearts out and leave yourself on the floor!
sorry the show no battle between Ade & Brandonin the finale and dance for Ade & Kayle the opposite attraction same length different colour , those two dances were my dream to see in the finale instead of seeing a dancer always his length was a problem and we say ooooh he is sweet
I agree with the majority of the bloggers in saying that Ade should be in the top 4. Ade was my absolute favorite and I as truly sad to see him go. I honestly do not understand how Evan is still in the top 4. Please do not get me wrong, all of the top 20 this year was absolutely amazing … probably the best top 20 since the beginning of the show but cuteness should not overall the true talent of dance. I can not wait to see the showdown between my other favorite three dancers and I hope at least one of them win this season!! Jeanine you rock!!!! Brandon and Kayla all you can ever say is WOW … always performs like a dream. I think the majority of the top 20 has a bright future a head of them!!! Good luck to them all and I can not wait to see them on tour!!!!

Brandon is AMAZING! if he doesnt win this season, this show will prove to be a joke. He is just flat out ASTONISHING with every move he makes. I wouldn’t be too disappointed if Kayla won, she also has tons of natural talent and knows it.
If Evan wins the show, it will be like season 2 all over again. Evan should not even be in the top 10, let alone the top 20. Jason should still be there. But that’s not going to happen so, GO JEANINE! She is the best dancer in that top 4. Although, I wouldn’t be mad if Brandon won.
I see people leaving comments saying we’re mean to Evan and that he is good in his style and he has so much humility. BUT I think people get frustrated when they see such amazing talent from Ade and Jason and watch them leave the show to someone who’s talent is limited like Evan. He is good in his style ONLY. The beauty about this show is seeing dancers excel in different styles other than their own. Evan’s repeated dance moves gets boring. Has he gotten any style completely opposite than his own on this show such as hip-hop or disco? (I don’t remember) This isn’t the So You Think You Got Humility show… Go Brandon!!!!
I still cannot believe Evan is in the finals! I would be much more excited watching the show with Ade there. I can’t figure out who is voting for Evan. Oh well, but if he wins, the shows a joke. That said, GO BRANDON!!!! What an amazing dancer he is!

ALL EVAN HATERS! You guys can say whatever you want about him and praise Brandon all you want. But yet you seem to ignore the fact that the show glorify’s Brandon in an unjust way as if they want him to win. Yes he is a good dancer but not good enough to win. Wake up and open your eyes. The 2 best dancers are Jeanine and Evan and if Jeanine doesn’t win I really hope Evan does so all of you who say he can only dance one kind of style can go rant and rave when he is crowned America’s Favorite Dancer. He deserves it! So stop all the whining, watch part one of the finale tonight and pay close attention to the unjust glorification of Brandon, who again I agree is an amazing dancer, but more so be blown away but the never ending talent that is Evan. Personally, I think ALL the dancers this season have been phenomenal. My 2 favorites are still on the show, and although I have not agreed with some of America’s choices (including last week’s), the title is “America’s Favorite Dancer.” Watch and vote this week. The amount of effort and work the contestants put into their production is AMAZING!! Go Brandon!!

After reading some of the comments posted, I must say, I am not an old hag, I am quite young and I think Evan is wonderful. He is our modern day Gene Kelly and it is a joy to watch him dance, no matter what style!

Congrats to the top 4 but i would’ve liked to see Ade and Janette along with Jeanine and Brandon in the top 4 or even Jason. Although i like Evan and Kayla and think they are talented but i believe the others are just a bit more. I think kayla is beautiful and is a great dancer but she doesnt really show personallityand keeps to the same solo routines and evan is just not up to par with rest of the contestants but i think his dance style is cool. Thats just my opinion. But I hope Jeanine or Brandon will win this season.
A little tip for the judges: Its ok to praise and say you loved their performance but everytime someone says you are my favorite dancer they get eliminated before their time

I have voted all along for Evan I absolutely love him and I love Broadway so I am very happy that Evan as well as Kayla are in the top 4. I’m sorry but I really do not like Brandon, he is strong but i don’t know there is this girlish way he dances.. not my favorite definitely not my favorite but by the looks of it a lot of people like him.. So we will see.
I’ve been a professional dancer, choreographer, and director of music videos for the past 22 years. My take on the finalists: Brandon? WOW. Incredible execution and form. Kayla? Beauty and grace personified. Jeanine? Most improved and yes, a surprisingly good lock and pop dancer. Evan????? Well… He seems to get the popular vote, but is clearly out of his league. Regardless of this week’s outcome, Evan will tend to struggle professionally because of his stature and the limited call for his style (from which he cannot seem to diversify); the dance world is not a gentle place for aspiring professionals, as he will come to see. I just hope Evan doesn’t run away with this year’s series win simply due to lots of female voters. As for this season overall? Mia, Wade, and Tyce? WOW!! But please Nigel (and production staff): MORE MIA, less ballroom!

Phialdelphia Fox29 showed commercials instead of the girls dancing together. They came back for a moment then more commercials. What else did we miss.
Well I believe that the final two have been pre-selected and the choreography that Brandon and Evan was taught showed this. This routine was no doubt tailored for Brandon and no matter what Evan did none of the “judges” would compliment him. Brandon has been chosen for the final two since the season began and I am starting to regret that I purchased tickets for the fall tour. The results are fixed. I feel that Brandon could go out and do a robot dance and get rave reviews.

I have really been disappointed with this year’s SYTYCD! Evan should never have gotten into the Top 12 & I am upset that the Judges let him through when there were so many others that at least could do the routines! When the show started, the Judges critiques were all about the movements & they stuck to that format… What happened this year? Evan has not been able to keep up with the different styles at all & has made every Lady he has partnered look bad, yet he is in the Top 4?????
The judges shamed themselves tonight with their obvious bias against Evan. From the choreography (whipping boy), (nasty boy), to their comments it seemed the entire show was geared toward taking it away from Evan.
Judges should remember, the title is “America’s FAVORITE Dancer”, NOT “America’s most versatile dancer” or “The Dancer who has GROWN the most”… COME ON!!!
IF Evan is a favorite, accept it. Don’t try to hurt a genuine great person (and by the way, a pretty darn good dancer), with your hateful, biased comments.
Evan WAS my 2nd favorite. I’ve not voted for him all season, but I’m voting for him continually until they close the lines tonight just because of the judge and choreographer conspiracy to make him look weak.. He is far from weak, just different. You seem to fall in love with hip-hop dancers who can do little else.

I can not believe the judges at the finally tonight (wednesday). Could they beat down on Evan anymore. I will have to say he is one of my favorites!! I didn’t think he would win but that was totally uncalled for!!!! If you love Evan vote and give him a good showing!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Ron. Evan was #4 of the finalist in my opinion, when judging the best dancer. However, he is now my favorite. Not the best dancer, just my favorite; because of the bias against him tonight. It is O.K. in my opinion to critique a dancer for their performance, but the additional negative comments had a reverse affect on me.
One point should be emphasized in the voting process. Viewers like Wade Tatum above should not be permitted to vote 1136 times for a dancer. Besides being a little sick, it is an abuse of what should be a fair selection process in choosing good dancers.
In another talent show, on another network, a viewer cannot vote more than 10 times for a performer after the show. That process should be implemented in SYTYCD.
Brandon should win, with Kayla in a very close 2nd, but judging from the ridiculous results that have occurred in the past three shows, Evan, the worst dancer, will probably win. So Wierd.

Thi is a dance contest and not a popularity contest and it pains me that people will vote for Evan when clearly Brandon is a better and more compassionate dancer. Do not do dance an injustice – that is not to say that Evan doesn’t have talent because he does however he is not the best dancer of the 4 finalist. I hope America gets it right. A vote based on populartiy is a miscarriage of justice for all involved. Even the girls are stronger dancers and should get the vote before Evan does. -Not hating in CT
I am so disappointed that Nigel would pick 2 out of the 4 at the end when all 4 have done such an amazing job getting to where they have. I hope he never does that again and leave the final judging up to the people to decide.
To everyone who loves Evan, that’s great. Yes, he’s cute, he’s sweet, he’s lovable with those sad drowning puppy eyes and he’s popular. However, at the end of the day -THIS IS A DANCE COMPETITION. NOT CUTE, LOVABLE SWEET GUY COMPETITION. If it were, he’d win, hands down. But this is ABOUT the DANCING!!! So while Even is a very good dancer, can you honestly say he is the best of the four? Or second best? Or third or fourth or even fifth? No offense but Ade was AMAZING. And he had a great personality and was much loved and should have been in the top 4. Evan is getting by purely on his sweetness and that is NOT FAIR to all the RIDICULOUSLY TALENTED dancers that are left. If Evan wins, America will be telling all these dancers not to strive to be the best but to just cultivate a different endearing personality and you can win. And that is just not right. I’m sorry to all you Evan-lovers out there who disagree, but can you honestly say he stood his own in any of the dances he was in tonight? Or was he overshadowed a lot. And the solo? Come one? I really thought that the judges were pushing their two favorite contestants tonight. Say what you will about Evan…bottom line, he’s a great dancer! The performance tonight between Evan and Brandon (although not my favorite dance), was strong. Evan danced amazingly. The judges have ripped him apart for being “too nice and cute”..are you kidding me!? If you did not know his endearing personality, you would think he was just as much of a hard ass as Brandon with the “Nasty” routine. All the finalists are amazing. Whoever wins will deserve it!
You know… Nigel said once that this show wasnt even about americas most talented or BEST dancer..but that it was americas FAVORITE, regardless of who might be a LITTLE better. All of the dancers are incredible. Even….so what if people think he is in the top 4 because he is popular, thats the point!! He is great, and by far my favorite. But I respect everything that each and every dancer has done. One person made a comment about Evan and his inability with his partners….did you not notice that him and Randi never once were in the bottom?? She only got eliminated once she was with someone else, not that it was her or her partners fault. But her and Evan danced incredibly together. There must be SOME reason why he NEVER got put in the bottom! Brandon is a good dancer a very good dancer! But he is of no higher level then Even!At fast upbeat dances he looks a little better than Evan sometimes, but in a lyrical dance not quite. And as far and Ade and Melissa…. I LOVED them!!! both of them. I think they both deserved everything and more. But so does Even… and Brandon… I would like to see all the stupid people making judgments about anyone of these dancers ability to get up and try and do what they have done this season!!! It is un believable!

I’ve been a Brandon fan since last season’s auditions when he didn’t make the show. I’m so glad he made it this year and I knew if he could just get on the show he’d make the finals. He has consistently shown insane talent, growth, and the ability to adapt to any style he’s given, unlike Evan who is fabulous at his style, but struggles with anything that’s out of his genre (i.e., hiphop, African, etc.). He wasn’t even very good at Broadway, which as a Gene Kelly wannabe he should’ve killed.
Frankly, I think Ade was robbed (as were the viewers), especially after that breast cancer routine he did with Melissa. It was genius. Jason was robbed too. Both were far more talented and well-rounded dancers than Evan. I would MUCH rather have seen a dance-off between Brandon and Ade or Jason than Brandon and Evan.
The producers of the show need to refine their format and keep the judges involved all the way through, because something is truly wrong when real dance superstars like Travis Wall, Will Wingfield and now Ade lose out to one-trick-ponies like Evan and Benji Schwimmer who get to stay because people think they’re “cute”. It’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, not “So You Think He’s Adorable”. Dance talent, not popularity, should be the deciding factor on a dance show. That’s why Sanjaya couldn’t win Idol. If you’re going to award a recording contract, the contestant should be the best singer.
If Evan wins, it’ll be like Benji from Season 2, who won over the incredibly brilliant Travis Wall (who totally got robbed) because Benji was more of a crowd pleaser. Stuff like that that makes the world see America as culturally-retarded.
America, you messed up on this one. I’m not saying that Evan is not a good dancer, but not good enough for the final 4. There is no way Ade should have been eliminated from top 4. Brandon will be the winner and Kayla will definitely be in the number 2 spot. She is awesome. What a finale it would have been if Ade and Janette would have competed with Brandon and Kayla. Anyway, all in all, what a wonderful show. I haven’t missed a single season. I think it is wonderful you are coming back in the fall.

Hey guys. I have to say that after watching this evening’s performance I am completely appalled and disgusted with the judges. I really did not think they would carry it this far…but to my greatest disappointment they have. How arrogant and pretentious they are. It was like the snow ball from hell and once it started rolling they just couldn’t help themselves. Once they, or should I say Nigel, decided that he did not like Evan he preceded to tear that absolutely talented young man to pieces. Nothing he did was good enough according to the judges. How absurd is that? That’s okay Nigel…we were watching and we know better. He is awesome. I really am embarrassed for the “so called” judges. You reached new heights this season embarrassing yourself with your “yelling,screaming and acting out” so that you could discredit Evan and promote whom you thought should win. How dare you behave so rudely to that wonderfully talented young man. While you may call yourselves judges, you most certainly did not behave that way. We expected so much more from you (respect, professionalism) and instead we got angry, child like behavior something like you might see on a school play ground. Disappointing to say the least. On a brighter note, I’d like to congratulations all of the finalist this season…you all are phenomenal dancers in your own right and I wish you all the best.
I find the judges are really showing their true colors in trying to get Evan eliminated. I thought their job was supposed to be unbiased but they are ripping Evan each turn. Hopefully America will make the judges eat crow and get Evan as the #1 Dancer! He wasn’t my favorite, but with the nasty comments, he is mine now!
If the judges keep this up, I don’t think there will be a season 7.
I think an easy way to fix the abused voting process is to charge $1 to $2 per vote. People will still vote because you cant watch something that beautiful and not get emotionally involved, and therefore not want to vote your favorite in. My problem is, I cant seem to choose! When you have Jeanine in the Travis dance, Melissa in the Breast cancer dance, Kayla in the Addict dance, and Brandon in everything he’s done, you just get stuck. This was such an amazing season. Good luck to everyone- I love this show! Cant wait for the tour!

Evan all the way. Second choice is Jeanine. This is America’s ‘Favorite’ Dancer. Not Best Dancer. I would agree that other dancers might have more technical talent, but Brandon leaves me cold. As does Kayla. They are beautiful dancers, but the I don’t get the ‘presence’. I don’t want to say anything negative about them, I’m sure they are wonderful people, just not my favorites. They don’t warm me, or make me want to watch.
I don’t watch the clock. I know the second hand will move in exact movement and function. It’s reliable, but not entertaining. When Evan is on the stage, there is a light and charisma that comes through. The judges keep saying he’s too much the same thing. I agree. He’s always Evan. He seems like a real person. I admire that honest human connection over technical precision.

HJB I am in total agreement with you, except I am not for Kayla, I totally dislike how the judges always try to put it out whom they like the best, (in the looks department) she has grace but in many styles she has a lot missing and for being a trained dancer she should be better in many ways, she is good but Jeanine has got her beat in many ways.
Brandon is with out any question’s the BEST dancer I have seen and I have seen a lot with 62, I have danced most of the styles and all I can say to the top 4 good job, I did not expect to see Evan he just can not shake his Broadway style and I hope that is where he will make his courier.

I’m sorry to say that I think none of the judges are giving EVAN any credit, here’s the thing…the only reason why EVAN is getting chewed to bits is because they WANT EVAN TO WIN because they know what he’ll do with his talent. They know that EVAN is talented & they can’t step on the boys toes because he’s got a major backbone, his Broadway background gave him that; they’re taught not to break down when someone doesn’t like what they do, so when the judges chew him out it’s because they want the man to succeed
Congrats to all of the dancers this year. Everyone has been amazing and I have loved this season. I am amazed at how close all the dancers are in talent and just how different all the dancers styles have been. It has been a really great mix of dance styles.
I really wanted Janette to come out on top. We really dropped the ball on that vote.
I wanted to add that I think the judges are being really hard and in some cases down right mean to Evan. He is great dancer and a real joy to watch. I am not looking to see if his kicks are the best or if he is using his partner as leverage. He is a cutie and it is not his fault that the dances that he is given require him to be tough or angry or sexy and the judges are not able to get past that. He is the all american boy, the boy next door, the boy you bring home to meet your parents and he is pleasure to watch.

How can you say Evan is the worst dancer? Evans’ style is so different than the traditional Jazz, Lyrical or contemporary that is seen on sytycd. To have a judge come out and say that he thinks Brandon or Jeanine will win was not very professional or lends creditability the voting process when the executive producer says something like that. The final four all have different styles and bring a different look to the show. If Evan was a different race no one would be saying anything negative about him (everyone knows this is true).
JEANINE should win–hands down! Brandon is talented but i get tired of his actions when the judges give him their comments – that has totally turned me off about him–i think Mia Michaels had him pegged in the beginning! i realize that will not be a “popular” comment – i don’t care.

This is supposed to be America’s Favorite Dancer, that means to me that you vote for the dancer that pleases you most to watch. These dancers are not from the same dance styles, same backgrounds or same level of dance. We all know this when we begin watching this show. But, we find a dancer that warms our heart, that puts a smile on our face and we begin to cheer for that dancer until the finale. Then you make a decision to vote for your favorite or the best dancer. I voted for my favorite because he made me keep watching each week. None of the others dancers made me want to tune in each week more then Evan. There is no reason to bash him for being a particular style or not as good as another dancer. You can’t blame him for someone else getting voted off. Have a little compassion people and leave a lovely comment for your favorite dancer and leave all the harsh comments to yourself.

I agree that Evan has been bashed too much, especially by the judges. What that guy had to listen to in front of millions of people tonight was awful. How can he have any self esteem left after that? He may not be the best dancer of the 4, but he got there dancing and being a favourite. This is Americas favourite dancer, not who you think is the best dancer. He hasn’t been looking for someone to tell him he is really good (aka Brandon), he just shows up, works hard and does his thing. It’s not right what some of the judges did tonight. The others are very good dancers, no doubt. The criticism in the way it was given was not warranted. Good luck to all the dancers and especially Evan after this is all over!!

For tonight’s dancers, the one that stands out the most and gave me goose bumps from the start of season 5, is Jeanine (J9). Every time she dances, she lights up:) and I can feel her every emotions, no matter who her partners is, she gives it her ALL. What an amazing gift to have… If she wins this competition, America’s Favorite Dancer, it will open a lot of doors for her.

The judges give no love to Evan. Disappointing….I think he’s great!
It’s frustrating to watch and must test his spirit.
I must say I am not a dancer, but I am a huge fan of dance. I have noticed that the judges continually comment on the fact that Evan can’t break away from his style in other genres. Well, do the contemporary dancers really break away from their styles? Contemporary is beautiful, but it’s not as specific a style as Evan’s broadway….
I equate it to education….there are people who major in History, Geography, Sociology, very specific… and then there are people who take Liberal Arts because they like the freedom to have a bit of everything…..Contemporary dancers are Liberal Arts majors and Evan chose Broadway as his major….
Good luck tonight to everyone. Evan, I think you are wonderful and I have been turning on the show to see you every week. I was disappointed you didn’t make it in season 4 and was very happy to see you back. And, I will point out, that I am not a senior citizen in a nursing home. I am a young woman who appreciates all the classics and am very glad you are bringing it back for younger people to fall in love with. Break out your copy of Singin’ in the Rain…Broadway is back!!
I just want to say I have loved Evan from the auditions, BUT (and there is a BUT) honestly I don’t think he deserved to be in the final 4 & I think the finale suffered because of it. I think Evan is very talented but he did not grow like many of the other dancers and it really showed last night. Everyone he danced with out danced him, and this has been the case for weeks now. I was thrilled he made the top 10 so I could see him on tour, but Ade was a far stronger dancer & really deserved to be in the final. Had Ade been there I believe the dances would have been much stronger & made it a reak competition. I also would have loved to see Jeanette make it further, I think she was one talented dancer, but I look forward to seeing her on tour. I understand its America’s Favorite, but I think America should focus more on talent & not make it such a popularity contest.

My husband, daughter and I watch your show faithfully and our favorite dancers were Melissa, Evan, Ade and Jeanine.
Nigel’s continual attacks on Evan’s personal appearance are mean spirited. A dancer can work to improve their technique, flexiblity and performance face, but short of plastic surgery, how can he change his “eyelids to make him sexy” or whatever he called his face last night to make himself look nasty? According to Nigel and usually Mary, his dance abilities are always found lacking too.
It’s amazing that Evan could find the self-confidence and courage to continue to perform last night knowing that the judges would rip him apart yet again. Watching Evan’s face as he bravely withstands the judges attacks and his wonderful, charming broadway style, is probably the reason he is such a favorite with the American public. In Nigel’s closing comments he called Evan a lovely chap. He couldn’t force himself to say anything complimentary about Evan’s dance abilities. Who did we think danced the best last night, Jeanine? Who did we vote for, Evan.
I hope Evan’s brother rethinks joining season 6 top 20 dancers.

I completely agree with Lea. I can’t even imagine how hard this whole show has been for EVAN, constantly being put down for what, retractions? I’m no senior citizen as well, and I’m thrilled that Evan’s keeping broadway alive! Last night was not fair to him. They gave him and Brandon a hard-hitting, aggressive HIP-HOP piece. Let’s think about who would win that battle.
Regardless of judges and other technique monsters out there, I’m proud that he’s in the top 4. (And to you technique people out there, you have to admit that he is technically genius in his style, and hasn’t blown a single dance yet. I think that’s pretty good.) Besides, this is America’s FAVORITE Dancer, not America’s Most TECHNICALLY ADVANCED Dancer!
All that said, I hope JEANINE wins.
Congratulations to the final 4! This has been the best year ever. I hated to see anyone of the final 8 get knocked off! Brandon you are good, but you have been good all through out and I have not seen you get better. You are good and you stay that way. Kayla is the same. Jeannie has shown improvement and growth and so has Evan. I feel Evan (and some of the others)did not get as good a chance with the routines he was given, except “The Butt”. It seemed the “good stuff” was always given to Brandon, or Ada. I don’t know who picks who will get what routine but they need to make sure ALL the dancers get some good stuff.
Evan may win BECAUSE of the anti-Evan finale…The Jive was ridiculous to give someone at the finale, and even the Brandon/Evan number was not finale material and ill suited to the dancers. Why didn’t they just dress him in a dog suit and have him to an interpretive “Beagle Boogie”? People will vote for him, because they feel he did not get his dues from the judges…they played that one wrong – they need to be fair to him, which they have not done during this competition – he has hit everything they gave him, but is simply not built for many of their challenges – they never do right by him. He does so much better than others out of his genre.
Jeanine is the one who deserves to win this! Great in everything she does – she also has the charisma to be america’s FAVORITE dancer!
Thank you everyone, who could see the truth about Evan. He is a mid-west boy with the a mid-west work ethic. We work hard here because we love what we do and don’t look for praise and glory. What they did to Evan last night was disgraceful and mean. I always valued Nigel’s comments, but he was out of line. In Evan, I could see myself just wanting to dance all day with him, his strength and gentleness was endearing. I can’t say that about Brandon. Evan’s routine with Jeanine was amazing, the personality he displayed made me cry, I actually felt the pain he portrayed. As far as him being short, so was Kelly and look at the legacy he left. Evan will always have a spot in my heart because he is Evan.
Evan’s alright but he does seem like he’s over his head in most of the dances. Brandon’s a great dancer, but something about him annoys me, although his solo from last week knocked my socks off. Kayla is pretty and a very good dancer but BLAND. Jeanine is a wonderful dancer with great personality. I think Nigel got it right! Brandon and Jeanine lit up the stage, although Jeanine seemed to stand out more to me. Jeanine gets my vote!
We all know if it was about the best all around dancer Evan wouldn’t be in the top 4. Come on people let’s be for real about this. Now don’t get me wrong the boy can dance, broadway that is but he’s just not that versatile when it comes to other styles. If he wins, oh well… it won’t stop me from watching next season. Way too many awesome dancers out there yet to be seen! and I can’t wait!

i think all 4 of these dancers are great. But i hope and pray that Jeanine wins because she is just soooooo good and when she dances she just lights up the stage. thats just my opinion . i hope to be a dancer and sometimes i feel like there is no way n the world i can do it , but when i see her dance it makes me want to keep goin and never give up. but if she doesnt win i want brandon to win because he is just awesome.! lol but yeah even if she doesnt win she’s still a winner to me.
WOW is what I want to say….. Congrats to all the final 4. I wuld liek to start off with say in tuned in to the show to watch one dancer and one dancer alone i love to dance and it requires a lot of work. The guy truely worked hard and he impressed me more than any of the others did he did his routines very well and I think the judeges for get they only get several hours or just a da to learn a routine. The comments that the judges made last night about him was in pour taste and to be honest why is mary still on the show she never teachs any of the routine and neither do does nigel so get out there and help this kids instead of sitting on your back side screaming……. I voted for the entire 2 hours last night and all my votes went to EVAN he is truly my favorite and he deserves to win but he is a winner alreadyhe won ove a large amount of voters just with his smile. I say have three different judges every week next season and I agree wif Evan was of another race the lame remarks by the judges would have never been said. I have one last thing to say to Evan no matter the out come tonight Stand tall and be proud of your self you have nothing to fell down about the judges are not always right keep your head up keep smiling your a true winner all the way Go EVAN
Like Nadia, I was disappointed at not seeing full segment of the two girls dancing together. Did one of them screw up?
The judges have been less than professional and unbiased this season and that’s putting it mildly. Janine’s solo was her best performance all season. I still think Kayla is consistently a joy to watch and the best dancer overall. Evan makes me feel good all over – not just because he’s a sweet looking lad – but because he really looks like he’s heart and soul into every dance he has performed all season. Yes Brandon is a fabulous dancer but I don’t see/feel much emotion.

For Evan fans, I too was pained by the criticism that he had to endure last night. His feelings must have been hurt and he took it well. Yes, it is the judge’s job to educate the public regarding dance. Yes, the criticism could have been more subtle. But, do I blame the judges? No. The judges have been subtly trying to give America the message for weeks that Evan is not the all around best dancer on the show. Even judges can become frustrated. Their comments about him having too nice a face to fill the role of a nasty boy and other recent comments about his face is a reference to people who like his smile and sweet face. Subtlety has not worked. So the judges last night took the direct approach.
I judge speech competitions. And yes, sometimes I do vote subjectively, i.e. for what I like. But, only when the competitors are so even on a technical level that a tie cannot be broken on technique alone. This is when the judges vote subjectively ( also known as judges preference ).
People voting for Evan are using what can be called a “voters preference” — his supporters have referred to his Broadway style, his looks, his smile, his personality. What anti-Evan fans are saying is look for all around versitility first, then vote for what you like. Brandon, Jeanine, Kayla, and Janette have all demonstrated the all around technical ability to be champion. People would not argue against these as they have against Evan. Because if Evan wins, it would be an unjust win based on popularity. The angst directed at Evan last night wasn’t really about Evan but about America’s voting.

HEY. Does no one recall that Evan has NEVER, I repeat NEVER had to “dance for his life” or been in the bottom?? The kid gets votes– He is doing something right– not to discredit any of the others, they are all winners and absolutely phenomenal, but let’s remember that, please. I thought the judges were right on with their critiques of the dances and the two praised (Brandon and Jeanine) were definitely superior. I would be happy to see either of them win and certainly would not be disappointed if Evan won. However Kayla was in the bottom three numerous times only to be saved by the judges, and has not performed as well nor does she have the personality of many of the dancers who were eliminated and should not have been in the final four.
I must agree with the above comments that this season was lacking–can’t put my finger on it, but it just wasn’t as good as the previous seasons. Nigel has become an old, insulting coot and that may have put a damper on the show. This is one of my favorite shows, so I hope it recovers its spark in the fall.

Kayla and/or Brandon should have won! I love Evan but Jeannine??? She is a good dancer but doesnt sparkle like Kayla. Kayla has stage presence, a glow and is flawless. Jeannine, is hard to look at, a bit too short and would never stand out in a crowd. Kayla will have a career and Jeannine will have $250,000, period.

I can’t believe jeanine just beat brandon!!!!!!! He really deserved to win it all! I’ve known him since I was 8 years old and I know how much he loves to dance. Jeanine didn’t even include her love of dance in her top four profile while the others did!!! Honestly, evan should have been eliminated a long time ago and ade should have taken his place. I’m very disappointed that America got it wrong when kayla got eliminated before evan. Anyways I wish the best of luck to both kayla and brandon in their dance journey. I saw the finale and to be honest…nigel ruined it a lil by hinting at who won…but it was only a few seconds before Cat said it so no biggie. Among the top 4, Brandon really really really deserved to win, Kayla really really deserved to win (her solo and her performance last night (the finale)with Evan paled in comparison to what Jeanine and Brandon did that’s why she only gets 2 ‘reallys’) and Jeanine deserved to win and Evan…no comment. I like Jeanine but taking into account the whole season and who has been killing it every single week (Brandon and Kayla) and how she just “peaked” at the right time isn’t good enough reason for me to win. If she had shown that skill from the start, it’d be different. Did she dance an amazing solo in the finale? yes. Was it better than kayla’s and Evan’s? Yes. Better than Brandon’s? no (it was one move ppl…while Brandon does all sorts of KARAZY stuff (yes that’s how I spell crazy) Based on that one amazing solo, does she deserve to win over Brandon and Kayla? No. (they were consistent “stunnas”) In the body department she is def America’s favourite dancer…I’m sure Nigel will agree haha. Kayla is gorgeous though. At least Evan didn’t win, otherwise I would stop watching the show…he’s not like the other 3. Congrats Jeanine. But Jeanette had an even better personality and was smoking hot with her dances. Basically 1. Brandon or Kayla 2. Kayla 3. Jeanette or Jeanine 4. ) Jeanine 5.) Ade and that’s it. It would have been great if they zoomed in on Mia Michael’s face if Brandon won….sweet revenge hahaha. I’m sure Nigel enjoyed his hug with Jeanine tho at the end. “12:30 am….Absolutely delighted” Of course Nigel! HAHAHAHA.

im a level 8 gymnast myself. i began doing ballet when i was 3 but i quit and went to gymnastics. im really good at it (not to be concieded) but i wish i was still dancing. Jeanine has been such an inspiration to me and i am so happy that she won! she is my hero! ya Jeanine!
Was very disappointed in the outcome!! The dancers this year were phenomenal!! I wish the judges had more say in the final decision. All 4 finalist were good, but Brandon was the BETTER dancer. All dancers’ seemed to up their game after dancing with Brandon.

I hated what the judges did last night to Evan and especially Kayla! They should have kept most of the comments they made way more professional than they did. Even tonight they were still at, it they suck!
I loved Kayla she was so great in everything she did, she always had the
highest praise, what happened? It seems at the last minute they decided they wanted Brandon or Jeanine to win and unfortunately they got exactly what they wanted…way to go America! Jeanine was good but not as good as Kayla and no way did she deserve to come in behind Evan. I am never watching this crap again, don’t doubt the winner is pre- determined. Kayla your the winner as far as I am concerned!
This season lacked personality and competitiveness and to give an example Brandon and Evan’s “Nasty boy routine” just felt like slaughter to me. Like having a wolf wrestle with a lamb….it wasn’t a fair fight. Compare their “competitiveness” to Josh and Twitch last year in the trepak…see the difference? Jeanine and kayla tho both seemed like formidable opponents for each other. The cool calm calculated beauty vs the athletic, shapely, vibrant persona.
First of all, for all of you crying about poor little Evan, the judges were telling everyone that he wasn’t that great because he should have never been in the final 4. I remember hearing some pretty harsh words come out of Mia’s mouth a few times to Brandon and Ade, I don’t hear any comments about that! The show is called “so you think you can DANCE”. NOT “so I think you have a cute face” or “so I feel sorry for you because everybody is picking on you” or “so I think your a great ballerina”.(Mellisa was also in longer than she should have been, again about a routine, not the dancing). If it’s all about how cute you are, then why do they even have judges??? The judges are there to critique the DANCING. That means how each person does in every genre. That’s why the dancers work so hard. It is to prove how talented they are!!! I hope the next season voting is changed to let it up to the judges so that the dancers that really have talent end up at the end, not the one for the sympathy votes!!! I was glad to see Jeanine win!!! With Brandon and Kayla it made a great top 3. Jason or Ade would have made a great top 4. They had the most talent!!!
I believe the final vote to be left up to real dancers and not the mainstream audience.
Most final decisions of people who are just watching will vote on outward appearance or beauty, and not on skills.
BRANDON was the true winner — he had awesome skills, and reflected in mostly every style. He was quick on his feet and all around performer. Jeanene was good but if you run a playback you will see her fall behind sometimes.
It does the dancers a disservice to allow millions of non-dancers to vote on their skills.
I love your show, but I think whoever staged the last two finalists really messed up. All the contestants got to say what they enjoyed most about the show, who they would miss, thank the choreographers, and their favorite moments with the EXCEPTION of Brandon. He was dropped into the abyss with not another word once Janeen won. Brandon had no closure with his fans. Badly done, poor manners. With an English gentleman directing the show, how could like faux pas happen?
I’ve been a professional dancer, choreographer, and now direct and choreograph music videos. Janine’s win is not surprising to me. She made the most growth over the season among the finalists and reality audiences thrive on these type of journeys. For all of you who love Brandon (as I do), don’t forget how often reality ‘runners-up have gone on to move far beyond the contest winner. Case in point? Season two’s runner up Travis Wall. His career is really lighting up, far beyond the winner of season two. Same has happended time and again on American Idol, Top Model, etc. Janine competed fiercely and is a worthy winner, but keep your eye on Brandon and Kayla. They’re just getting started…
Well, I am disappointed with the results but a bit reassured by the comments I see on this blog. Brandon, you were PERFECT all season long, you deserved this title and you have nothing else to prove. You did it already, and it means nothing that you didn’t win. YOU R THE BEST! I agree that Kayla should have been up there with Brandon, but between the two, I would have still chosen Brandon. Jeanine has talent and personality, I think she was popular and won because of that. But come on people, seriously? Best dancer?
Ade should have been up there instead of Evan, and why on earth did Janette get eliminated? She should have been in the finale too.
Brandon, you ROCK! Never think less of yourself because you didn’t win. The people who know anything about dancing know that you should have won!
I’m sorry that I’m in Canada and not eligible to vote. It was devastating to watch the results tonight. Kayla and Brandon were by far the best dancers on the show this season and either of them deserved to win tonight. They haven’t made one wrong step this whole season. I guess America got jealous that such amazing people exist amongst the gray masses. SHAME ON YOU!!!

I just have to say that the results show tonight was truly FABULOUS! I laughed, I cried, but most of all I just enjoyed the spectacular dancing. The structure of the show, with the judges picking their favorite routines, was ingenious. I was hooked for every minute, not just fast forwarding to get to the results. Seeing the judges up there was such a treat. It is nice to see them joking around like real people up on the stage. I think Mia Michael’s is a true genius. I don’t always like her style, but when I do I am moved to pieces. I hope that SYTYCD decides to stay with that format for the finale next year. I enjoyed every minute and think that Jeanine makes a fine winner (Brandon or Janette would also have). My hats off to the producers and directors of the show tonight as well as to Cat who is always a pleasure to watch. Kudos to all! Looking forward to another great season.
This season was phenomenal and my FAVORITE is Brandon. He radiated passion and energy that moved me every time he danced and I wanted him to win. His talent is epic and I hope that he is celebrating tonight for the way that he wowed America!!!
I really respect Janine for her hard work and I am the first to agree that she is an awesome dancer, but let’s face it she doesn’t compare to Brandon. I think these shows and contest to a certain degree are rigged. My opinion is due to the fact they had a black male to win last season that it was no way in heck for them to allow another black male to win this season, no matter how talented and gifted he truly was. Maybe, in the 7th season it will be their turn again.
BRANDON SHOULD HAVE WON!!!!! I’M NEVER WATCHING THIS SHOW AGAIN!! Brandon was more talented he nailed every task thrown at him. Brandon was great at every style of dance. Jeanine was good, but not as great as Brandon. Brandon is better than jeanine. If they were to battle Brandon would definitely win no doubt about it. This contest was rigged. I think they were just racist with the decision! BRANDON if you read this You were amazing and this is only the beginning for you! God has something instore for you and your amazing talent that he blessed you with!
Was anyone else annoyed by the camera action last night? They were in and out and over here and over there. There was one camera angle that was so far off that you really couldn’t even see the people on the stage anymore.

I have danced with the best of the best, including Brandon Bryant, Cassie Scerbo (from Make it or break it and bring it on 4), and johnny (from dance on sunset). Honestly I think that the final four did amazing this year. Evan has his own style which is difficult to understand. I feel that he tries very hard but just couldn’t keep up with people like brandon and ade. Kayla is wonderful as well, but she kept her personality hidden all season and sadly it wasn’t enough to show it the night before the finale. Jeanine always seemed in the background to me. I think that she’s good but it really didn’t help to tell fans that she hated dance. Now I feel as if she’s fake. Anyways congrats on the win. Brandon has gone through so much in his dance journey in his life. He’s been rejected and torn down all the time. He was rejected the first time he tried out for sytycd and I saw the reluctance in his face on audition day this season. He has grown so much this season, but people don’t see that because he’s always been fantastic. Like evan, he’s been torn down by the judges like lil c and mia michaels. I know that I would have a hard time working with a choreographer that had it out to get me eliminated. What I love so much about him is that no matter how hard he tries he takes harsh criticism like a pro and always with a smile. I know that he has what it takes to continue to strive for excellence. This is not the last that america will see of brandon. Although he didn’t win, I know that he will do something great and be known throughout the world as america’s favorite dancer!
I have to say that I was disappointed with Brandon not winning. I feel he was the strongest dancer from the beginning at auditions and really was 100% on every single step he took. I couldn’t wait to see what he did next with each routine – and he never disappointed. What a phenomenal dancer!!!
I think Kayla was amazing and again never made a wrong step… Still for me the energy Brandon put out there while performing will always put him number one in my eyes.
Penelope you are entitled to your opinion as I am. I feel that you are way off base with your comments. The Comments from the “judges” on Wed. towards Evan was way off base. If Evan should not have been in the finals then he should have been alienated several weeks ago. To have the executive producer say who should win just exemplifies that the voting process is not an accurate measurement. If you remember when Mia was not so much interested in Brandon it was early in the season not the last night of voting. Penelope, your use of this example is no where close to the maligning action of the judges towards Evan. The “judges” told the viewers how to vote and, I believe, pre- determined the outcome.

I have watched all seasons and by far you were my favorite and have a great career ahead of you. I feel it was a dumb comment by Nigel about your persoanlity just coming out. Every dance routine I saw it and in the groups you were the dancer that stood out. Great job and you are number one period. The voting is not fair and is a popularity contest. A person can vote a thousand times for the same dancer and is that fair. I hope to see you on stage in the movies or somewhere when you make it BIG. I am such a fan and think you are the best dancer and best looking girl I have ever seen dance!! Ps I am not hitting on you I am 60 and my daughters who are 25 and 30 think the same.

Ade was amazing way better than Evan who though is a nice guy lacks TALENT!! I just don’t get it. If he was hot I could see why people were voting for him but he is such dork. Go Brandon and Jeanine.
I am pretty much a fair person….and I know my feelings and opinion are not isolated and is shared by others; I am really disappointed by the results of the show. It was one of my favorate shows, but the show seems to be leading towards prostituting (using for selfish and personal gain) exceptional dancers, by taking their time, efforts, and emotions and then crushing them at the end. Eveyone in thier right mind knows that Brandon is the best and Jeanine can not compare to Brandon. Brandon entertained, showed skill, personality and talent every night, the show would have not been successfull had it not been for a few other dancers greater and more talented than the winner. I dont understand, and I would encourage all exceptional and great dancers not to be used and then slapped in the face at the end. To all great dancers, let the “average” dancers be apart of “So you think you can dance” and maintain your integrity. Great Dancers must know that they can and will meet “GREATNESS” with or without this show. Fairness is always appreciated.
KUDOS to KAYLA—She was the ONLY dancer who had to perform AFTER being eliminated as an contestant. Can you imagine the emotional rollercoater she must have been on all evening, and then have to perform such a demanding piece as Mia’s “addiction” number. I don’t know how or where you found your strength, courage, and conviction to step back out on stage Kayla. In your performance you were TRULY “dancing for your life”. The result is the most heartfelt and courageous performance of the season.
All the Top 10 dancers are fabulous and I hope they are appropriately compensated in their tour.
