Finalists Karen Hauer and Victor Smalley were eliminated

Cat Deeley with Victor and Karen
Finalists Karen Hauer and Victor Smalley were eliminated tonight. Hauer, 27, is a Latin Ballroom dancer from Queens, NY; and Smalley, 21, is a Contemporary dancer from Miami, FL. This week’s results show also featured special performances by Shakira and American Ballet Theatre member Paloma Herrera.
The three couples who received the fewest votes after Tuesday’s performance show were: Karen Hauer and Victor Smalley; Mollee Gray and Nathan Trasoras; and Ellenore Scott and Ryan Di Lello. After each of these six dancers performed solo routines, the judges eliminated Hauer and Smalley.
The fate of the dancers now rests solely in the hands of America as the competition continues on television’s most original dance show Tuesday, Dec. 1 (8:30-11:00 PM ET; 7:30-10:00 PM CT; 7:00-9:00 PM MT; 8:00-10:00 PM PT) following live coverage of President Obama’s Address to the Nation on FOX. The Top 10 finalists (Ashleigh Di Lello, Ryan Di Lello, Russell Ferguson, Mollee Gray, Jakob Karr, Noelle Marsh, Kathryn McCormick, Legacy Perez, Ellenore Scott and Nathan Trasoras) will be paired with new partners as they compete to be named America’s Favorite Dancer.
The following night, there will be special performances by Snoop Dogg with Quest Crew and LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers) before America’s vote is revealed and two more dancers are sent home on the live results show Wednesday, Dec. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
Additionally, Cat Deeley will host the first fundraiser benefiting The Dizzy Feet Foundation at the renowned Kodak Theatre in Hollywood this Sunday, Nov. 29. The special event will celebrate the world of dance and will feature fan-favorite routines from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and other hit television series, as well as dancers from the upcoming feature film “Step Up 3-D” and performances by Mary Murphy and Dmitry Chaplin. The event will also showcase the first-ever Dizzy Feet scholarship recipients from The Juilliard School, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the American Ballet Theatre, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and Mary Murphy’s Champion Ballroom Academy among many others. I like the format of American Idol where all the contestants sing songs from a certain artist. This way seems fair. Is it possible to have a theme each week, such as all do hip=hop routines for the first dance of the night, and then all the contestants can pick a dance from the hat for a second dance. It would seem to be equal that way as the interpretive dances always seem to get the better reviews than the formal dances. Just a thought. Thank you.
I think the judges showed an unusual inconsistency in their judging last night and quite frankly sent the wrong man home. I had been an early fan of Karen, and was hoping that she would “bring her A game” in her dance for your life segment. She didn’t. The dance was typical, and uninspired and she deserved to go home.
However, Victors dance was energetic, inspired and the best of the bottom 3 mens dances of the evening. I am not a huge Victor fan, but it was wrong to send him home.
Nathan’s dance was the male version of Karen’s dance, typical, usual and uninspired that showcased his ability to roll around on the floor. I am uncertain why this lad and his obvious immaturity in word, attitude and dance has made it this far, and why some of the judges are so taken by him.
Usually I trust the judges and believe they are the the safe guard against some of America’s silly voting habits…but not last night. Mary and Adam you got it wrong last night by sending Victor home and without knowing who Nigel thought should be eliminated, I do know he was the most honest and accurate of the three judges in this instance.
I think this show should remain a summer show. At this point it’s just overkill. The judges (read Nigel) know who they want in their top 10 and manipulate things to make it happen.
Victor, you should have been kept in. Great injustice to you. Boo to the judges that did not see your great kindness and abilities as a dancer.
You should be one that is sent along with the tour.
i am so disapointed… my two favourites leaving before the top 10. noelle & russell and mollee & nathan should have gone before them.
see you next season, because this one is way too boring for me to keep watching it.
For the first time in all these years of SYTYCD, YOU GOT IT WRONG. On not a single level did Nathan out-dance Victor. In technique, in passion & committment, in performance acuity, and in growth, Victor far surpassed Nathan. I’m a dance teacher (of 35 yrs) and look at these dancers in much the same way the judges do and generally agree with the outcome. Even if I disagree, it’s a tight race and I defer to their judgment. But not in this case. I’m shocked that Mary and Adam came to that decision but mostly disappointed and saddened by the injustice bestowed upon Victor.
Though I did not like Karen’s solo, I think she should of stayed instead of Molee. To me a solo is just that, a solo. It has nothing to do with partnering dancing, maturity, etc. Karen is a better partner dancer then Molee. This is a partnering show. I personally think that Kevin held Karen back and that he should of never been in the Top 20..but oh well.
To me Karen wasn’t given a chance outside of her solos. The Hip Hop number by Laurie Ann Gibson was horrible! I DO NOT like her choreography. To me it’s unfair when the dancers get sucky choreography that does not show case thier talents.
Oh and I still don’t get why it’s a big deal to have 3 tap dancers when the show is flooded with contemporary/jazz dancers. That baffles me.
I agree with Greg, they need to change up the show.
Another causality OF the mix couple Syndrome. L@@K at the PIc and last weeks elimination and U should see what went on during the season. NEED I SAY MORE!!!!!!!!!
I will miss Karen. She is much more talented then some of the other dancers who did not get cut. She is exciting and dynamic. She did not deserve to go home even tho her dance before the judges was certainly lackluster, but every other dance she has performed was over the top. She has star quality, which is lacking from most of the dancers remaining.
I think the judges were right about sending Karen home last night. She’s way too proud of herself and she needs to take it down a knotch if you ask me. Victor, however, should have stayed in the competition, he’s a fantabulous dancer!
I’m very desaponted with the judges decision of keeping Nathan over Victor.
As promecin and good technition as he is,he didn’t grow at all in the competition,he is missing that humble that every dancer need to be able to learn and grow as a person.
I think Victor deserve to be in the tourne he did a great job thru the seasson……
Karen is an amazing gifted dancer, and I was disappointed that she seemed to have given up yesterday. However, I do like Eleonor and Mollee also.
I agree with Gene Gee (above)…I thought that Nathan should have gone home. His immaturity was obvious & he apparently knew that he would not be going home last night!
WHAT!!! why did the judges sent Victor home?? He was the best dancer in the whole show. I’m so shocked! This was probably the first time the judges have got it all wrong. I just don’t understand what lead to this decision, why to save Nathan over Victor?
Sooo disappointed with the judges choice…usually i agree in some way- but not this time.
Victor I feel he put more effort and had more to show than Nathan. His solo was better and even his partner work..Nathan also kind of boring, he is young but not memorable.
And Karen had something that made her stand apart from others, everyone else just seems to be the same typical dancer types from the past 2 seasons.
This show is starting to lack and seems to have a formula…that has become boring.
I don’t think I will continue watching…I will do what i did last year and watch the last episode.
I can’t believe that if The Judges were looking for quality dance they would select Mollee and Nathan for the Top Ten after half a Season of mediocre performances. Victor and Kathryn are amazing gifted dancers and deserve to still be competing. I hope to see them dance on The Tour!!!
The judges got it wrong! They have been the best and most fair judges on TV, but they are not up to it… this season.
I agree– the show needs a change, a fresh start… all the dancers should dance 1 dance from the same genre, that would be more fair, and the judges cannot play favorites!!!
Something needs to be done to spread the genres and choreographers around more evenly for these dancers to test them in a balanced way. As an example, Russell drew, I believe, 3 ballroom routines in a row. He’s done a great job of holding his own, but I think it skews the curve when genres are chosen randomly
- I think this week the show’s back on track 4 REAL.
- I like Ashleigh & Jakob Jazz / Ellenore & Ryan Broadway very much!
- Noelle & Russell’s Samba was one of the worst ballroom routine EVER! ( of course along with Nathan & Mollee’s one )
- And once again, the judges made the RIGHT choices!
Victor should still be in the competition. He is great, and I am a casual fan of the show. His solo was better than all of the men’s and women’s solos last night. The judges are only thinking about the contestants that will sell tickets and pushed those contestants into the top 10 for the tour.
Victor was great, Nathan was garbage. Nathan will sell tickets, though.
Given the bottom 3 this week, I agree with the judges. I am really glad the judges saved Ryan and Eleanore — they had two very entertaining performances in week five (I don’t think any other couple could play those characters that well) and really only one miss all along with the hip-hop. They became my second favorite couple behind Kathryn and Legacy (who, although imperfect, complemented each other perfectly and their “Fear” number is still my favorite).
Although M & N are not necessarily my favorites, I think it is unfair to say they haven’t grown. They could not live up to the hype but definitely have a lot of potential. They kept getting cute choreography (like phone hip-hop and can-can), so it’s really impossible to assess their growth. I wish they gave them at least one mature number in week five to see how they would handle it. (I hope Adam’s crazed remark about Bosnian refugees won’t mean this will turn into a “Miss America” contest.)
Victor had a great solo (although somewhat reminiscent of a Brandon knock-off). Half of his dances were contemp or jazz and were good but he always seemed to dance within himself rather than connecting with his partner or the audience. Outside his style, he was completely lost and unable to take on the character. The tango was good but, if you look at it carefully, he did the steps but had loose posture and none of the tension and mood that Karen gave the number. For the Broadway and hip-hop, he was moving around the stage so randomly, you could not even tell what he was trying to do. (Many other couples, like M&N, Ryan and Eleanore, Peter and Aryana, had less than ideal hip-hop choreo but you could most definitely tell they were dancing hip-hop.)
Too bad about Karen. She was doomed by her partnerships (and excessive praise) but ended up on the bottom so frequently they had no choice but to send her home. Most of the voting this season seems to be about the guys and it will be interesting to see what happens to the girls when they are separated. Ashleigh and Noelle had a free ride so far and now we will get to see what they can do on their own. Aside from the Cha-cha, Ashleigh really supplemented rather than complemented Jacob. Yes, all of their numbers were good, but I can’t imagine any of the other girls would have done poorly in her role. Noelle and Russell had misses for half of their numbers (those samba rolls looked like they were polishing a chandelier) bu rode in his personality.
Many have said that the cast of season 6 is not as good as season 5 and I agree but don’t mind. Season 5 sent home many excellent dancers way too early, before we got to see much of them. I prefer they be spread over two seasons per year and that more dance styles continue to be represented.
Such a shame!
Victor deserved to stay and I am fairly neutral about these things. I would say that Victor has always been dancing for himself in partnerships, but you can see the potential in him as what he did in the tango. Victor delivered an amazing solo! Seems incosistent with whatever they have been saying… solos are meant to help judges change their mind on who to stay as some decision would’ve been made based on previous body of work. If you objectively take both Nathan & Victor’s work for comparison, Victor has more hits than Nathan. His solo was the best of the night and one of the best I’ve seen since Brandon’s last season, it was inspiring and definitely better than Nathan’s.
And it is really sad to see what the judges do for teen voters. Think about this, keeping teen voters may not be worth losing the many other voters who also include teens who believe in fairness too.
Nathan came to the show with a bang and he didn’t live up to the hype unfortunately and taking that factor away, his work has not been as good compared to Victor’s. Across all men, Nathan was a fair call. Legacy pulled the sympathy card – please vote for hope message, which I thought was lame because it was just unnecessary and if anything, will eventually make people get sick of him because of the emo side of him, which sometimes may not exactly come across as genuine.
Karen was a fair call although I wouldn’t mind Noelle gone, she lacks charisma and you don’t get drawn to her at all. Then again, so is Karen – she was too proper and stiff and unrelatable, as if she was the queen, lacks amiableness. Elleanore was the only deserving person to be saved. Mollee to a certain extent is a bore to watch. Somehow, her posture is way too straight for comfort, not going lower and bending that back enough or using those hips a bit more.. the uprightness I feel will be her downfall in this season.
I agree with the comment that maybe everyone should dance one style for the first dance. in my opinion Karen& Victor were let down by the choreographer off the HIP HOP routine..I think the judge, Adam said something about that as well. that routine was very poorly choreographed and the music did not match the rhythm of the dance…it is a shame for Karen& Victor, because i think they can really dance!!
Victor should have stayed instead of nathan. He is a way better dancer and that solo was one of the best this season. i don’t understand why the judges kept Nathan. I do however agree w/ the girls decison. GO MOLLEE!
Victor got to dance in his style 3 times!!!
Nathan and Mollee 0
Plus Nathan and Elleanore make up their own choreography. They do not rely on tricks and turns we have seen a hundred times before.
Victor looks like he would make a good ballet dancer.
I was glad KAren was voted off and not Mollee or Elenore…Karen did a great sexy dance, but failed on solos and other genres. I like to see the energy Mollee dances with and always enjoy her…I will be glad to see her dance with a partner not quite so into their own thing. And I really hope to see Ashleigh and Ryan dance together so they will have a dance on the tour. I wish people would give Ashleigh more credit…she has been as good as Jakob every dance and so supportive. I also love how she fought back from being so sick to dance this well.
I think this was an excellent choice…although I think the judges favor Nathan… Although he may have the talent Nathan knows he has it but definitely doesn’t have the “it” factor… Can’t wait to see the couples get mixed up!
The judges need to sell tickets for the top 10 Tour and think Nathan and Mollee will sell more tix than Victor and Karen. Like everything else, it’s just business. Disheartening nonetheless to see good talent leave the show.
I thought Victor solo was great. I really like Eleanor and Scott. I think Nigel comment about Scott solo was so wrong. I really enjoy his solo and he is a ballroom dancer so he is going to do ballroom for his dance and it was a lot better then Nathan. Victor should have stayed but I was more then happy to have Karen go. I really never enjoyed any of her dances and her solos were terrible. She seemed to think being sexy is all she had to do. But if you watch some of her dances and really pay attention she messed up a few times. I am glad Molly stayed but felt her solo was more cheerleader like and that is why it bother me when Nigel said something to Scott. Two or three weeks ago when all of the did their solo he got mad because they did not try. But Karen did nothing last week and stay and did nothing this week and he did not fuss at her just said she seemed to have given up. I think he wanted her in the top 10 but could not pull it off again this week…
This past week was a shame. Karen was a fabulous dancer but couldn’t elicit the sympathy or “emotional connection” with the audience she needed. Victor was a stunning dancer…obviously superior to Legacy or Russell, but wasn’t a “cryer” and didn’t hug or kiss on his partner constantly thus not projecting the “fake” romance(i.e. Jacob and Ashleigh) the viewers AND judges like to see. Can’t have no “homo’s” on the show… yeah, right… don’t ask, don’t tell.
this season is horrible and boring!
I can not fathom why the judges continue to believe Mollie and Nathan will gain maturity and sex appeal with different partners. They ooze immaturity and arrogance. So many of these dances cannot be pulled off by children and that is what they are.
My Goodness!!! Karen?! She is STAR Power! Hot Tamale list time and again. It’s unmistakable and undeniable. Give her a decent partner or great choreography and amazing things happen. That Hip Hop routine was pretty bad. The dancing was better than the choreography. Neither one of them had a chance.
Victor is just as good a dancer as Nathan. And a man. Don’t understand this decision at all.
I am done with this season. This decision seemed pre-decided. In fact, it reeked it. Those kids (Mollie & Nathan) are a joke and I am not into watching Disney shows like Hannah Montana. This show is not for mature audiences.
The judges did not respect their adult audience. Those kids need 5+ years before they are ready for the big stage. Not in dancing but in personality & maturity. Wow! What a disappointment.
Mollee can do solos but not partner routines.
Ryan can do partner routines but not solos.
Those 2 should have been sent packing.
Rememeber this is a TV SHOW they take drama over talent… I’m not a big fan of Victor but i believe he should have stay in the show, his solo was amazing & his tech is extraordinary… Nathan tech is very incorrect his legs are always bent and he has no control… The judges manipulate the situation to send VIctor home, they will regreat this decision because America is now aware that the show is fake, they keep who they want regardless of their dance!
I’m glad they got rid of Karen she was so irritating. She always had this superior attitude and posture when she would stand there getting critiqued and waiting for results. Ugh!
I didn’t expect them to get rid of Victor, though. He looked kind of surprised too. He was really good.
BIG Love to the Tango! It’s my favorite that night. And agree with above, the choice is definitely wrong.I dislike Laurie Ann Gibson’s choreography,I can’t see anything special in it,and it can’t keep me watching. It’s not V&K’s fault, they have really fought to keep themselves on the show.I didn’t see Keren’s giving up.For me,there’s less and less thing could make me to follow it with interest.
Just so all of you know, I THINK THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF THE SEASON WAS TO ELIMATE VICTOR SMALLEY, HE WAS CLEARLY BETTER THAN THE TWO HE DANCED AGAINST. In addition there are many things I would change about this show, the main one is the fact that the votes are never shown anywhere in the show, how do I know what they are telling me is true. Furthermore, the judges need to be changed once in a while since they can have a favorite and not look at the real talent. After all I realize this is just a TV show, they take DRAMA over TALENT.
I wish Karen and Victor really good luck in the future.
I think that this is an excellent Top 10! Great job, jidges and viewers! You sure do some hard work to cut it down this far.
But since our Top 10 has been chosen, now the viewers have the final say every week when deciding who will be eliminated from this point onward, so it is very important that I stress this piece of advice to all the voters out there: DON’T assume your favorite people are safe; please vote for them anyway. You never know what can happen at this point in the competition. Also, don’t assume the BEST people are safe, as well.
Three of the best female contestants this season happen to be Mollee, Noelle, and Kathryn, so make sure you vote for them as much as you can.
Three of the best male contestants this season happen to be Ryan, Russell, and Legacy, so make sure you vote for them as much as you can as well.
I enjoyed all the performances this week, and maybe next week, we’ll get some screams from Mary, and some people on the Hot Tamale Train.
Until next week, I’ll be there!
I know that Adam Shankman follows what fans are saying and I hope he is following the fact that long time fans of the show hate the new stage. I have watched every show since the first show. Watching SYTYCD is one of the few things that I really enjoy.
When the show did the finale last year in the Kodak Theater I thought, “oh geese I can’t wait for them to get back to their regular stage, this is horrible!” But low and behold the producers decided to make it the show’s permanent home. I get the fact that the show moved into a fall timeslot, but the only reason they could was because it is such a popular show. But moving to the Kodak Theater has really upset the long time fans that have made the show top on the rating charts. I sincerely hope and pray that the producers realize their mistake before they lose the audience that brought the show to the status it now holds.
Karen out of the top10 instead of Molle or Noelle or Ashleigh???
Victor out of the top10 instead of Russell or Legacy or Nathan???
What is this? Disney Channel?
The judges have lost all credibility with this decision.
Karen & Victor, you were obviously too talented and special for this awful season 6, aimed at the 13 years old girls we hear screaming like if they were possessed everytime Legacy cries or dances shirtless.
I’m sure you won’t need the show to have brilliant careers.
i absolutely adore victor. i can’t believe they didn’t chose to keep him after his solo was that strong and nathans wasn’t. i hope nathan get better otherwise all those weeks of keeping here would have been for nothing. my favorite overall is JAKOB!!! love that man. he CAN dance, and America knows it! i don’t have a favorite girl.
I have been watching SYTYCD from the start and am a HUGE HUGE fan. I have been a dancer my entire life and am typically very happy with the judge’s decisions regarding who stays and who goes.
However this season I feel that a terrible dancer has been let into the top 20 and that the judge’s praise of him has allowed viewers to like him enough to let him stay up until now.
LEGACY has been a terrible dancer since Vegas when we saw how horribly he handled the choreography. Week after week he has been given choroegraphy that has allowed him to showcase his b-boy talent and not the actual type of dance he has been given.
Last week, the judges told him how fabulous they thought it was that Sonya put boy stuff into his pop jazz routine. However, never before has this been allowed for anyone else and week after week choreographers do this for him since he does not have the ability to dance a real pop jazz routine, one that Sonya or anyone else would have choreographed for any of the other male dancers. When a different choreographer put a leap into one of Jakob’s routines this year the judges said they did not want this….so why is it okay for Legacy?
Also, in Legacy’s second routine of the night after he cried the judges all commented on how they love him and therefore were going to overlook his terrible footwork on his vietnamieze waltz. They all commented on how his feet were all over the place along with his body position but then went on to praise him.
I love the judges and normally agree with what they have to say. But I think this season not having a rotating judge doesn’t give a fresh opinion to the viewers and therefore they pick their favorites and do what it takes to convince the viewers to put them in the top 10.
Why didn’t Mollee and Nathan go home a long time ago!!!!!? Haven’t they been in the bottom three every week since the show started. Mollee may be a good soloist but she is a joke when you put her with a partner. Nigel thinks the sun shines out of her @@@ but she is the biggest joke on this show in a long time! All she does in her solos is trick after trick followed by a few classroom steps. So ridiculous!
I’m so upset at SYTYCD i can’t believe Victor was eliminated after his solo was simple amazing. He prove that he was the best dancer of the night… I’m so mad because that was extremely unfair… I love Ellenore (she is my favorite) I think the judges manipulate the show for Victor to get cut, this prove that the show is fake & the votes mean nothing… THis show is a joke and not fair,…..IM SO MAD & DISSAPOINTED!
i know victor. ive danced with him. he is one the most beautiful male dancers ive ever seen on the show. his technique is amazing. im not watching anymore. i should have got the memo when i auditioned in new orleans. mary said and i quote “this is not a dance show . .this is a REALITY SHOW.” well i say screw you. i love you victor.
The idea of all dancing same style sounds good but would lead to a boring show, If the common dance was Hip Hop whomever got Tabitha & Napoleon as their choreographer would have the advantage, the show becomes more about the choreographers than the dancers.
The judges always get to pick the top ten that’s why they do the bottom three not the bottom two. This week was a little tough on them because Russell didn’t get into the bottom.
Karen should have gone two weeks ago, it would have been cool to seen Channing and if she would have survived. She might have been the best all round dancer maybe not performer. I do like this show.
Victor was not the one to leave. His solo and performances have been incredible. Unfortunately, the judges seem to want to keep Mollee and Nathan, despite their immature performances. If you are keeping Mollee based on her solo last night, then, Victor should still be there as well. Poor choice by the judges.
It is strange how the “cookie crumbled” here. It started when we lost Billy Bell, and the other Paula (who was an amazing dancer) due to her accepting a role in a movie.
Things could have been totally different.
However, I believe the outcome is very much rigged here. The judges know from the beginning who they want in the Top 10, and yes, it is all about business and selling tickets.
I think it all begins with who they partner with who. Let’s face it….Legacy, Russell and Jakob are shoe-ins, and their partners absolutely benefitted from this. Noelle, Ashleigh, and Kathryn were never challenged and never in the bottom 3, even though I feel Kathryn is a lovely dancer and deserves to be in the top 10.
Had Channing , Karen or Pauline been partnered with one of them, they would still have been here.
Sigh…..
Victor was so fabulous, but I think the judges didn’t want to give up Nathan ( ticket sales from the young) the married Ryan, since having a married ballroom couple on the show is really great for “business” in general.
I feel badly for Karen…she had it rather rough with the change in partnerships and the roller-coaster ride with the praise and then constantly being in the bottom 3.
They probably want the tour to be more of a variety show of different dancers and dances…..have to keep it fresh you know!!
Nigel, that was really stupid throwing the other two judges to the wolves. By saying that you were voting for victor meant that the other two voted him out. Stupid call. I know your the director but you need to stop talking. You’re smart but too much talking from you. You should let them dance more and keep you comments for after the show. The dancers this year are okay. Last years were better. Nigel, please shut up and let us watch the show. No more grandpa dancing talks. I hate that I have to Tivo the show because I can’t sit through your comments.
I agree that Victor and Karen were mistreated by being eliminated, and both more than deserve to be in the Top 10. Nathan and Mollie should have gone home. I also agree that this season is a big bore. I’ve watched my last episode of SYTYCD. I deleted it from my TiVo and I’m devoting my time to more satisfying ventures. I’ve had it with this kind of unfairness. Nathan & Mollie’s immaturity were more than evident and they had two poor performances the night before eliminations. If Mary and Adam believe that Nathan deserves to be in the Top 10, that alone justifies my giving up on this show. This was completely done to cater to the pre-ordained wishes of the producers who have decreed that Nathan shall be in the Final Four come Hell or high water. Don’t believe me, keep watchin’. It’ll happen. I’m beyond disgusted.
I was absolutely incredulous at the choice of Nathan over Victor. Were Mary and Adam watching? Nigel, you are right. He deserves a special invitation to be in the top 11. I WILL VOTE AGAINST ANY COUPLE THAT INCLUDES NATHAN.
It was inevitable that Karen was going to be chosen. As great as she was, there seemed to be a real disconnect with her and the voters. The judges couldn’t continue to push her through when she was consistently in the bottom three. Doesn’t really help that her solo was kind of lackluster. I’ll miss her, but it was really her time to go.
I’m surprised with Victor being the one to go. His solo was much better than either of the other two guys. I know that’s not the only thing that the judges look at, but it just didn’t look like Nathan wanted to be there as badly as Victor did. Maybe he’ll come to life when the partnerships get broken up.
It’s in America’s hands now. I wish that I could vote
awww..i hate nathan..so immature so lousy dance..I HATE HIM SO MUCH HE SHOULD HAVE OUT~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! poor victor
I wonder if Adam’s words to Nathan about other people talking about Bosnian refugees alluded to Legacy. I mean this guy keeps blabbing heart-breaking unoriginal monologues and weeping tears.
In the meantime everyone keeps talking about his growth, but I haven’t seen that. I totally agree with Mollie above that many choreographies he has danced have been adjusted to showcase his skills, so even if there is growth he hasn’t had to show it.
The judges keep talking how smart choreographers have been to include his style, but that hasn’t been done ever before and shouldn’t be done in the future if we want to evaluate how versatile the dancers are.
I think it’s unbelievable that Nathan and Mollee are still in the competition. Nathan is obviously the one that should have gone home, and I feel like the judges are voting to keep a teenage girl audience, not because Nathan is the better dancer.
I have never been so disappointed in the show.
I think there should be two favorite winners, a male and a female. Trying to compare the male and female dancers is like comparing apples and oranges. The technique, roles, and strengths are so different.
I also agree Victor got booted unfairly.
Im so glad that they seemed to have gotten rid of Mia Michaels. She was so rude and obnoxious. I love that Adam Shankman has been on as a third judge good constructive criticism and I think they have a well balanced talent of new choreographers. Wish SYTYCD could be on year round. LOVE IT!!!!!
I think they should have booted Nathan off the show last week…Glad Karen is gone…her solo’s were aweful! Ryan’s…love him with a partner, but his solo’s are bad as well. Go Katherine and Mollee! Russel and Legacy….love you….vote for you every week!
The judges talked much about chemistry last night. I wanted to say that I have been watching SYTYCD since season 1 and this is the season that I’ve enjoyed the judges the most. You three have had me laughing all of season 6….last night the chemistry between the 3 of you and Cat was fantastic! There is an obvious kinship and respect that is felt all the way to Montreal, Quebec…Canada! Shhhhhhh I don’t even watch the Canadian version…just not the same vibe. Alan…I love your particular brand of humor! Love Mary’s profound heart. Nigel, you are a class act. And well Cat…always beautiful. I believe my boyfriend’s exact words were “Smokin”!!! Thanks guys!
Unfortunately I think Victor was sent home because of “presence” and personality rather than talent.
He doesn’t give much emotionally although he is an excellent dancer.
The judges did say it was NOT unanimous for the men.
and Karen did not seem to have the fight and drive after judges comments.
I’m surprised though the the judges never made many real comments to Victor about connecting emotionally with the audience as think that was the biggest drawback for him.
I agree, Victor gave a KILLER solo that night, it was just breathtaking, as well as his performance the previous night…he has the best pirouettes I have EVER seen, and he can do the splits which is more than I can say for the other 2 guys in the bottom rung. He should have stayed…just because Nathan is the desire of all the teen girl’s hearts they won’t send him home, his solo was so lame, unimpressive to say the least, Mollee on the other hand did a really good “dance for her life” better than Karen’s…basically it will come down to another favorite to choose from, or Nathan has to be a loser along with Mollee for several weeks in a row before they finally let him go. Overall, in the bottom 3 guys, Victor was the TOP DANCER, and I’m quite sure Nigel knew that and fought for him to stay, but popularity won out. Honestly, my vote overall is with Legacy, he’s an amazing dancer and has shown the most growth, and NOBODY can beat him at that “Beboy” stuff he does, or whatever he calls it.
Couldn’t believe the Victor choice. But I thought Ryan should go and not Nathan. He is way too stiff and really loves himself, or at least his body. Ew. He and Ashley both seem emotionally inaccessible, certainly lacking in “it,” imho.
I hate the stage!!! Glad to hear that from others. It distracts soooo much from the dances. Crazy making!
Sorry to see Victor leave the show, but definitely think that Nathan will be able to bring more to the show with a different dance partner. I look forward to seeing them all with different dance partners.
For the people who complain that the judges were unfair to send those two home: it’s part of the show. Once you have come this far, you will get somewhere with your dancing even when it’s not on this show.
And what I read in several comments about Karen being haughty? How can you think that? :S
With some of the comments I really wonder if we are all watching the same show…
Ryan should have been voted off – both Victor and Nathan out-danced him. I am not sure why he was left in – just so that he can go on tour with his wife?
I think Ryan should have gone as well. I think Nathan is ok, but I don’t like Ryan as a dancer. He is goofy. Jakob is the best.
Karen was different (IN a VERY WONDERFUL way) which made her special, and I don’t understand why the judges didn’t keep her. I recall Nigel’s comment about her intimidating the others and I think she probably did. Still, in the way that they have kept others for their uniqueness, they should have kept her. I would watch whatever she is in, and I would love to see her get some kind of movie deal.
It is popularity voting system, lots of voters are not dancers.
They don’t judge only dance.
Karen started with her husband, and broke up with him after she made the top 20 by herself. Her divorce, her sexy appeal. Young voters might have been turned off by the personality she presented…
It’s part of the nature of this show. Each dancer makes a character to connect with the audience. Especially, other ballroom dancers on the show present themselves as a happy supportive couple,,,
Karen’s concept didn’t work with young audience.
kupono from season 5 was on carrie underwoods christmas special as a dancer.
I SO UUUUPPPPSSSSEEEET WITH LAST NIGHTS SHOW!!!!! INCREDIBLE HOW DID Ashleigh Di Lello NOT GET INTO THE BOTTOM 2… I HAVE BEEN TO EVERY CONCERT IN MIA AND THIS IS ONE THAT I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING!!!! I DVR..ED IT AND WATCHING IT NOW. IM SORRY BUT I WILL BE VOTING FOR EVERYONE ELSE EXCEPT HER. THATS TOTALLY NOT FAIR! DONT GET ME STARTED ON LEGACY…… WE REALLY NEED TO VOTE HER OUT, WITHOUT A PERFORMANCE AND STILL MADE IT !!! NO WAY… SORRY RYAN NOT HAPPENING.
