But the best part is Tim Roth’s own facial expression after he reveals the similarity:
Do you think Jess is really showing disgust or just stupidity?

why can not Canadians get this video…
I think it’s showing stupidity! To me it’s like she was asked a question and didn’t know the answer. Of course, that comes from knowing “of her,” and the fact that she’s not too bright…
Hahahah. Screencap, plz!
Actually, this bit of a lip gesture can be seen in several “entertainers” from the era in which Jessica Simpson was rather popular. They would extend the lips in this fashion, and nod their heads in accordance with the music. I’m not sure that this particular expression is that of disgust, though–Where are the wrinkles in the nose? The expression doesn’t seem to reflect disgust, at least not to me.
I should note that technically, it fulfills the part; Except, in the microexpression one might generally expect, the upper lip generally rises independently of the lower lip, unless there’s quite a bit of wrinkling high on the bridge of the nose.
Interesting, nontheless.
I was surprised to see this picture of Jessica compared to disgust. It didn’t look like disgust to me, no nose wrinkle, eye muscle movement. She is just looking goofy which seems to be in character for her.
I think Jessica Simpson is more intelligent that you guys seem to think she is. Im not saying shes a genius, nor do i really have any respect for her whatsoever, but she clearly plays up the whole stupid thing because it keeps her famous.
She makes money off of acting stupid, lots of it. That doesnt sound so stupid to me.
Though even considering that, i think they (the writers, or the people who find those pictures for Lie To Me*) could have found a more clear example of the expression, as it doesnt fit the full definition of the expression as defined in the show (mainly the nose wrinkling, and the lack of severity in her eyebrows)
Roth’s expression after is priceless though.
