status update.
October 9, 2008 – 6:33 pmBecause so many of you, our most devoted fans, have been asking, we wanted to set the record straight!
While the fate of the show past production on episode thirteen is still unclear, FOX has given us the go-ahead to write two more additional episodes for this season — fourteen and fifteen.
We are hard at work writing those episodes and await news of a potential pickup for the full “back nine” (additional episodes to complete the season) in the near future. We’re crossing our fingers (and dotting our i’s) that we’ll have more good news to share with you soon…
In the meantime, keep tuning in! Get your friends interested! And thanks for all of your support.

Umm, yay? Can’t really say too much beyond that until you get the back nine. Hopefully you’ll get the good news soon.
Though quick question, if the worst should happen and your back nine are not picked up or receive a renewal for Season 3, would Friedman(sp?) considered either writing a novel, or hiring one out to finish the Sarah Connor Chronicles story?
By jrc on Oct 9, 2008
Thanks for the update, I wondered if there was still a chance for the additional episodes. I wanted to ask Josh at the Golden Apple event but didn’t. There was no answer by then anyway.
I’m doing my part, buying each episode off Amazon and recording from FOX on my DVR. Also telling others to watch. Hope we get the additional episodes!
By Gary on Oct 9, 2008
Thanks for the good news. I watch the series on Mondays, then purchase it on itunes, and watch it again on the fox website within 2 days. I even signed up for the Dodge Ram.
Will do everthing I can to support your great work.
Your guys are creating television magic.

Yay, two more episodes ordered to work on! A step in the right direction. Like Gary, I’m DVRing/legally downloading/watching like mad!

DON’T CANCEL THE SHOW!!!!
This is one of the best on TV and it is one that our whole family sits down together to watch! There are only a few shows I can say that about. The show is well written and adds to the depth of the movies and books!
If you have to, move it to a better night! Going against MNF is not a good idea! We record it and watch it on Tuesday nights.
By Patrick on Oct 9, 2008
Sweet. Thanks for the update and we hope to hear more good news soon.

FINALLY, some good news at last.
If FOX is giving the writers the go-ahead to start writing more scripts, then that means that they may not be so ready to axe the show as everyone was worrying.
By sdfsdf on Oct 9, 2008
Yay!!
Here’s hoping for an order for the full “back nine”!
By Kristina on Oct 9, 2008
Hoooraaay!!! More TSCC!! =)
This is such great news! Hopefully we’ll get the full season soon. I’m an international fan and you folks won’t believe how popular this show is outside the US. Aside from buying the DVDs and writing to show our support, do let us know if there are other ways we can help.
You guys and gals, cast and crew are doing such a fine, FINE job. Keep it up!
By Drew on Oct 9, 2008
Wow! Great news!!
Thank you for explaining!
I want the 9, but I’ll take the two. Hopefully, Sarah hangs in there and forces the cancellation of Heroes, Dancing with the stars, and MNF. And then hangs those shows on a pike for all to see!
By stevezar on Oct 9, 2008
Great news, but please Fox give us the full season! The show keeps getting better as it lays down more mythology–I can’t wait to see (I hope) what the SCC team does with a full 22 episodes.
By Rindain on Oct 9, 2008
Great news! Keep the episodes coming and I will continue watching live and buying them on Itunes. Thanks!
By Joseph H on Oct 9, 2008
I love this show and surely Fox is not thinking about not continuing it. It is one of the few things that I actually look forward to.
By Brenda Whittenburg-Choate on Oct 9, 2008
So it’s back 9 or bust, huh? Well, if Prison Break is still getting 22 episodes, I don’t see why this show can’t either. T:SCC consistently gets better Nielsen and DVR numbers then PB. Also, not having to compete aganist MNF in ‘09 will greatly increase the 18-49 demo. Lastly, and more imporatntly, what’s Fox going to air when they cancel Dollhouse after the third episode?
By Corey (Thecolours) on Oct 9, 2008
This is great news. This show has been extremely good and has 7 interesting characters in my mind: John, Sarah, Cameron, Derek, Ellison, Charlie and now Catherine Weaver. I’ve never watched a show with this many, and it’s a tribute to both the writers and the actors.
We have only seen 14 episodes total so far, and getting 10 more (up to 2.15) would be great, but more would be better.
There is enough material to take the story through 4 seasons, all the way to Judgment Day. Some plotlines are Cameron’s entire history, the Catherine Weaver story, Ellison’s story, the John and Cameron dynamic, the Derek and Cameron dynamic (including what happened in that future basement), Charlie’s story post wife’s death, how exactly Skynet comes to exist, Riley and Kacy, etc. All of the fans would love to see how all of these things play out.
In the hardest day of the week, TSCC is increasing viewers, and is in the top 5 of shows watched online/downloads purchased.
Fox, let the show get to January, after Monday Night Football and Dancing with the Stars are over and Heroes becomes irrelevant. You will see the ratings jump, like they would on Wednesday nights.
A huge majority of TSCC fans are hardcore fans instead of casual viewers, and watch each episode several times. That’s more views for each advertisement. Please order the last 9 episodes and make a decision next summer about the fate of this excellent scripted drama.
By JustinZ on Oct 9, 2008
Congratulations! It’s so great to hear good news.
We fans will continue to keep showing our support and see if we can convince Fox to order the rest of those episodes.
And then we’ll work on season 3.
By Ashley on Oct 9, 2008
I really wish this show never end!!
I hadn’t wanted TV for a year (no joking),
but until I brought the Terminator - Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 1 last month, I can’t stop watching and hoing for more!!
This is a great series! I like it A LOT!! Last week, I heard people said fox will cancel this season, I can’t believe that and very disappointed.
Anyways, I really wish the series have at least 4 or 5 season!! Hoping for more great news!! And Thanks for the great work in the show!!
By Alex on Oct 9, 2008
That’s awesome news, FOX, if nothing else look at the DVR numbers, it’s like the 3rd highest of all the shows there are. a Million and a half or more people a tuning in, in DVR, wait until football season is done and those fans will be able to watch it live.
By Saber on Oct 9, 2008
Awesome! Looking forward to more SCC.

Everyone email in and let FOX know who the resistance fighters are!!!
My suggestions are to thank them for the two more episodes, tell them you hope for more and love the show, and you can even include that you’d watch this show on a different day if it’ll help ratings!

I really don’t understand what FOX was expecting from Terminator.. Admittedly the ratings are not great but if you consider:
1) the timeslot is very competitive (a lot of shows appealing to a similar demographic)
2) lack of a lead-in
3) the writers’ strike prevented the show from building momentum
then the ratings really are not that bad. I seriously doubt Fringe would have fared better, they are doing well in the ratings only because they have the benefit of a very strong lead-in and much less competition.
That said, Terminator’s ratings (especially demos) did show improvement this week and with the new movie coming out next year there’s a lot of potential for the show to gain more interest. But what the show really needs is a better timeslot, why not give it a chance on Wednesdays with Bones as a lead-in?
By Kat on Oct 10, 2008
That’s great news, that Fox is giving the show a chance to get those viewers. Hopefully we can get a new time slot soon too?
It would be a shame for such an awesome show to get cancelled when both the DVR numbers and BitTorrent numbers say it’s one of the most watched shows around.
In any case, thanks for the update, guys!
By sinclair on Oct 10, 2008
Thank you. I have never watch terminator movies, but some how the series catch my eye.

That is great news! TSCC is the only TV show that I watch, I really don’t want to see it end! I am watching new episodes multiple times on Hulu through a proxy site as soon as they are available, since neither Hulu nor Fox.com allow for viewing outside of the US (I can’t watch the episodes on Fox at all, but the trailers, etc, work). I get knew recruits everyday who are eager to watch the new episodes, but can’t easily access them at home here. Why doesn’t Fox change their website to allow overseas viewers to watch episodes?

The show is even better than the movies, and that’s saying something.

Slightly good news. I absolutely love this show and watch it everyweek. However, I cannot afford cable and so I watch the show through hulu.com. Does this affect the ratings? I feel like alot of people I know and talk to have been switching to sites like this because it allows them to watch TV on their own time without paying for services like TiVo and DVR. However, shows that were claiming terrific ratings are now raising concern and I’m wondering if this Internet-TV trend may be underreporting the show’s true audience.

I don’t really understand the thinking behind only having permission to write TWO additional episodes. Doesn’t that limit the complexity of the story you can tell to one that can be told in just two episodes? I’d like to see a big story that can go somewhere over the course of the series, and being only allowed to write an additional two chapters at a time must be limiting!
By theToucher on Oct 11, 2008
Not since the original Prison Break episodes have I looked forward to and enjoyed a show as much as this one. Growing up the terminator franchise I have always wanted to see what we are seeing unfold in this show.
It has matured and blossomed into something that is truly memorable.
Please FOX do the smart thing and give us this continued pleasure for a long time to come.
By Maxim G on Oct 11, 2008
Is this really good news? Or does it actually mean they gave them 2 more episodes to wrap up the story because the ratings are so low? Or because Dollhouse is behind schedule? There must be a reason. This shows ratings have not improved and arent close to last years numbers, so something is up.
By Cyc2u on Oct 11, 2008
I love this show!! Fox cannot cancel another one of my series (Firefly anyone?)!!!! Season 2 is getting better and better with each passing episode! If it takes moving it to another night, then move it!!

FOX DONT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Robert on Oct 11, 2008
Please do not cancel TSCC. It’s an excellent show with a great cast of actors. FOX please remember that viewers now have so many options for watching TV shows. I watch the show on-line, download from Itunes, and buy the DVDs. When my schedule permits, I watch the episodes at the regular time on Mondays. Please don’t think the show is a failure just because the traditional viewer numbers seem low on Monday nights. Give the show a fair chance to build an audience. It’s the best thing on TV for someone like me.
By Diane on Oct 11, 2008
Basically, this news means Fox wants to keep the writers busy, while they make a decision on the back 9. If Fox does order up a full season, the writers won’t be behind schedule.
By Corey (Thecolours) on Oct 11, 2008
I emailed FOX thanking them for the two episodes and asking for the rest of the season. Hopefully, more will do the same!
By Sarah on Oct 11, 2008
Don’t know if this was said already cuz I didn’t have time to read all the responses but, FOX I hope you read this: Don’t be stupid f****** ******** and cancel this extraordinarily rare amazing show that rivals only Battlestar Galactica amongst the great Sci fi shows of our day and just plain awesome, quality television in general. Please FOX don’t make the same mistake you have done so many numerous times before. You may not have the quantity of viewers you want but you have QUALITY viewers. Were the viewers who will get others to watch, the ones who will buy the most DVDs and give you the most online sales, we will do our ultimate best to save a show as good as this one. Please give it more time and please learn your lesson from great shows like Arrested Development, Firefly, and Family Guy that you canceled prematurely. Please FOX if you keep this show alive you will not regret it!
By Jesse on Oct 11, 2008
T:SCC is the only show that I care about on TV these days. That goes for over the air TV, cable/satellite, or anything else. As a 24 yr old male in the target audience I have to say please do not cancel this show!
There is so much material and so many stories left to explore it needs to keep going. Also, with the new movie next year how awesome would it be to have the TV series lay down the frame work leading upto judgement day and then having the movie pickup after that.
I think that this show is brilliant with incredible actors, produces, staff, writers, etc etc. Please keep it going!!!
By Adam on Oct 11, 2008

Getting 2 more episodes for season 2 is wonderful news!!! I love TSCC! It’s a fantastic show which keeps getting better with each new episode. It’s dark, gritty and has a touch of humor and humanity to it. Keep up the great work, we are watching.
By Georgia on Oct 11, 2008
This is actually the ONLY show I make sure I set aside time to watch during the entire week. It is brilliantly written, excellently acted and thoroughly entertaining. Perhaps there needs to be large campaign via You Tube, and other media launched midseason to gather new viewers. I am willing to bet that there are a lot more people in this country that would watch the show that just need to be reeled in.
I know a excellent show when I see it. It is the best thing on prome time tv right now.
By Galen on Oct 11, 2008
I meant “prime time” oops..
By Galen on Oct 11, 2008
I’m just getting into the series now.
I’m seeing that it has everything going for it to become a series even as great as Firefly. Though it has not started in the first 4 episodes at that level, the quality is going up, and the show is hitting a stride. The potential for ideas here could go on for years without getting stale.
It’s a wonder I still watch anything Fox distributes after the Firefly fiasco without stealing it or something, but good shows need to be kept on the air, and ratings usually speak.
There’s a concept that you don’t need to be watching a show to give it ratings. After all, an on TV set just shows as a number on a sheet in the end.
So turn on your TV’s, all of them, to Terminator. If you have 4 TV’s, turn them all on to the show, even if you’re not home to see it and are recording it, or just plan to later catch it on the web.
Then the show is sure to stick around to tell a complete arc if enough people do.
Peace.

By cameron phiilips on Oct 12, 2008
Hello, I watch your show with friends in Europe.
It’s not perfect in all its sides, but you succeed in the more important thing : giving life to the universe of Terminator movies, episode after episode, with a real credibility although you haven’t its budget. Stories between characters are also very interresting in comparison with many other “big” fantastic shows like Heroes and other.
So I hope the Fox doesn’t cancel the show !
By Hugs on Oct 12, 2008
I am getting sooo tired of this kind of network bs. If they are going to put a show on tv then they should at least give it one complete story arc, like a novel.
Getting into a story takes time, especially one like this, that spans time and involves a complexity that rarely appears on tv. To not allow a story to complete its arc is cruel to the watchers.
If this show is cancelled then I am returning full time to books. At least I get the full story from beginning to end.
By Bill on Oct 12, 2008
Please keep TSCC on the air! This is one of the best shows on TV right now. The writing is brilliant, the characters are believable and I love watching John Connor turn into the hero everyone looks up to after Judgment Day. I know Fox has a tendency to prematurely pull the plug on shows, so please, take a Prozac, sit on your hands–do whatever is necessary to stifle that reaction. Keep this show around.
By Ann on Oct 12, 2008
Thank you for your update! I’ll keep writing and supporting the show.
By Patti Bagadion on Oct 12, 2008
I love the show and hope it stays on the air. great characters, and terrific story line. look ratings this time of year always blow, especially when the red sox are in the playoffs. Use some common sense fox everything will get better, great shows always get past the October slump, because red sox nation is as loyal to the show as they are to the red sox, problem is we also believe in curses and have to watch red sox, even if they are on same time as our favorite show. What can I say we have OCD. What can I say I love the show and hope fox grows a pair, and doesnt fallow the same boring road as CBS,NBC,
and ABC.
Signed

Well, if you only get two more episodes, then write a pair of kick-ass shows that can serve as either a finalé or a cliffhanger. leave ‘em wanting more.
Or just write two kick-ass episodes, that’d be par for the second season so far.
By Michael Llaneza on Oct 12, 2008
This show can’t go! I don’t like much that’s on TV anymore, but when this show comes on, it’s FULL attention on the TV screen and absolutely no talking during the show. No other show gets my undivided attention. I agree with the comments about putting it on a better night. Tough timeslot with MNF and
(I’m pretty sure I’m making my husband crazy.) Thanks for the great show - it’s a tight present.
Heroes. I don’t usually get to watch SCC on Mondays, and have to wait until it’s available from Xbox Live. I don’t like watching it that way because I miss next week’s scenes. By the way, there’s no talking allowed during the scenes either.

By Colby Nicolas on Oct 12, 2008
Sorry Fox, this will be under your domain, but facts are facts.
Thanks to Fox Tv we now have a phrase in the English Language: To pull Firefly on something/someone.
Fox will pull yet another “Firefly” on TSCC.
Plus two episodes. Great! Thanks. But the reality is that TSCC is not a show of 2-3 episodes. TSCC is an EPIC SciFi Drama deserving a great 4-5 seasons minimum.
TSCC will be canceled by Fox. I said this before the show stated.
Solution is the SciFi Channel. Stargate Atlantis is cancelled, Universe is coming up, and I KNOW that TSCC would be a great addition to the SciFi Friday.
And Fox,
Please do not accept any more high quality SciFi Dramas. This is not your realm.

I’ll buy all of your sponsors’ products forever…I promise.
Just keep the show on.

Sarah Connor Chronicles made me watch TV again. FOX needs to back this show 100%. Don’t listen to naysayers like Ogla Sungutay. Fox needs great shows to stop being butt of every bad TV jokes.
FOX, if you’re listening, PLEASE keep a good show until it gets bad.
And SCREW Sci-Fi. It stopped being a true science fiction channel and started showing crap shows.
And Ogla Sungutay, I hope you were being sarcastic…

One of the best shows on TV. It’s great to hear that they are making new episodes, too bad they don’t have it at a better time. TSCC along with House are one of the things me and my co-workers tend to discuss a lot so don’t dissapoint us! We still have choice words for other shows that we loved but were killed of early and replaced by crap.

PLEASE MOVE IT TO A DAY LIKE WEDNESDAY BECAUSE ITS GETTING IN THE WAY OF MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL AND THE SAME TYPE OF CROWD ALSO WATCH NBC’S CHUCK THAT COMES ON AT THE SAME TIME! PLEASE FOX DONT CANCEL! THINK SMARTLY AND MOVE IT TO ANOTHER DAY BECAUSE THERE’S TOO MANY CONFLICTS WITH IT ON MONDAY!
By Sean on Oct 13, 2008
That’s some possibly good news. TSCC started out good and got better, so I’m hoping it can keep going.
I especially like it for its strong women (or in the case of one or two, woman-bot) characters.
It’s managed to carve out a ethos for itself in the Terminator timeline that for me, supercedes the suck-y Terminator 3.
Moving it seems like a good idea, it would be a good show just before or just after House, for example.

I love the show and I am just hopeless.

I love the show. The episode with Cameron having flashbacks was great. Please keep the show alive. I can take only so many law an orders or hospital based shows.

Come on Fox, keep the goodness going. It’s great TV! I’m usually pretty apathetic about TV and hard core TiVo user, but this show makes me want to watch it live (almost).

This show is awesome. I’ve heard it doesn’t have very high ratings… but I hope Fox realizes a lot of people (myself included) are watching this on Hulu.com or other alternatives. The Nielsen model is seriously obsolete.
Long live SCC.

I started looking for info on the net as to why there’s no TSCC this week and come to find out that it’s being canceled?! I totally missed the first season because of my job but now that I spent the money on a DVR, it’s being canceled. Thanks Fox.
So I don’t normally get involved with the “Save my Show” things but I’m here, this time, saying save my damn show!!
One other thing I’d like to point out; I hate Fox with a passion. I can name quite a few things that make Fox, not only boring and stupid, but also Evil. From the biased and deceitful “news” coverage to the boring, worn-out shows.
I’m sorry but Fringe will never be the X-Files rip off they thought they were getting.(I wanna’ believe, Pacey, but Dawson just won’t die.) I watch Futurama and Family Guy on Sci-Fi and my brother burns me copies of the Simpsons. I will look to Life On Mars for my Sci-Fi Show this season. At least it has Dr. Who tie-ins.
Now, I’m not mad at Fox because of the rumors about TSCC. I just hate Fox and when this show is gone, Fox will never make another dime off of me. Before TSCC, I had Fox blocked by my Parental Supervision features and I’ll be more than happy to block it again. I know I’m not the only one that feels this way.

Just tuning into this Blog and other related to the Series. While I am at the very high end of the target demographic, so holding down one end of the bell (curve), I have to say that work travel and the playoffs have forced me to Fox.Com and Hulu to catch the episodes, which of course, doesn’t help the ratings. I admit some ignorance to the ratings as I get that what I watch on COMCAST is clearly measurable, but as to WHO I am (read: my demographic profile), the cable box cannot communicate that. So, at best, I presume this is some synthetic composite model that instructs who is watching. Too bad real numbers cannot be better ascertained. I will say this to the Writers and Producers, I am for one (my wife a second, and more and more, friends we’re telling about the show) …we would gladly PAY to watch a continuance of this series through an Internet-based streamed solution …on Fox.Com as premium content? I s’pose the problem is the cost of production doesn’t pencil out. But, FWIW, there is another data point about the changing face of media consumption. I do hope FOX figures out something to keep this series alive; it has captured my imagination and glued me more than the MATRIX did. And we promise to do all that we can to park ourselves in front of the Tube for the remaining 7-9 episodes. We know if others could wrest themselves from things (Mon is such a difficult night to put this excellent production) ratings would return. Cheers.

If this show is cut short it will be a travesty. The series is essential for Terminator Salvation’s success. Best show on tv / internet in 2007 and 2008.

TSCC is NOT carried where we live. Dutch TV has a (bad) habit of being very behind with a lot of shows. This is one of the few shows we follow with a passion. It is difficult to find the episodes, though.
The Fox website does not support “view full episodes” for those in The Netherlands. Actually, I think that the feature only works for those in the USA. This just means that we have to work a little bit to find each episode. But that is something we do weekly, without fail!
If we were in the States, I can guarantee that we would be glued to the TV for each and every new episode. In short…
We love this show.

Please don’t cancel the show!! Just move it to Wednesday evenings since Monday nights are too crowded with all the other big shows (Heroes, Prison Break, DWTS, etc).
By Jennifer on Oct 15, 2008
This is excellent news. There have been some great moments this season and the team has great chemistry.
By Kris Sullens on Oct 15, 2008
Don’t let them cancel the show. It’s the only show I watch.
Cancel some reality-TV-show-brain-dead-rubbish instead. Forget prisons break too, its not a patch on T:SCC
This show is just going from strength to strength.

I life in Europe and watched the show when i was on vacation during the summer. I was immediately in love with that show. Since i´m back in Europe i have to wait every Tuesday until i can find someone who shares it with me.
I tried you service FOX for “Watch full Episode” but it doesn´t work here. Please keep that show. It´s amazing and i love it !!

I live in London and have to say that as a fan of the movies, I wasn’t going to watch this show. I saw the pilot on a whim and it blew me away.
Rarely do I see a show with so much class that it has me counting down the days until the next instalment.
Fox have a gifted baby in their hands and only they and not Josh are failing to maximise it’s potential.
We’ve seen it before. Wasn’t Star Trek cancelled in it’s third season. I wonder what happened to that show?

This show is AWESOME!!! I really, really hope to see the entire story complete itself. I’m looking forward to how John gets back to his original time, or whenever he will be sent back (before T3 happens).. and when Sarah dies!!
