  • Workplace Hollywood (www.workplacehollywood.org) - Workplace Hollywood is a non-profit organization dedicated to training and placing a qualified and diverse workforce in the Entertainment Industry. Fox Entertainment has been a leader among studios and networks in terms of placement of regular full time positions and interns referred by Workplace Hollywood. Additionally, FOX executives currently serve in the capacity of Chair of the board of directors, presenters, mentors and program and staff consultants. In the last three years, Fox Entertainment Group has hired more than 45 full time employees (including 3 at TV Guide) and 30 interns in the past two years.

  • National Association of Minority Media Executives (NAMME) (www.namme.org) - NAMME was formed in 1990 and the only organization of managers and executives of color working in both news and business operations, across all media-related fields, uniting diverse leaders across departments and across cultures.

    Fox Entertainment Group and News Corporation have been major sponsors and supporters of NAMME and assisted the organization in expanding from print journalism to various media platforms to increase awareness and access to careers in film, television and interactive media to their membership. Guy Garcia, author of The New Mainstream, (HarperCollins Publishing), was a recent keynote speaker at NAMME's annual conference. We have sponsored screenings for emerging diverse film directors in conjunction with the organization's annual conference in Washington DC, and an executive from Diversity Development serves on their Board of Directors.

  • National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) (www.namic.com) - NAMIC's stated goals are to "educate, advocate and empower for multi-ethnic diversity in the telecommunications industry through its 17 nationwide chapters." Members are cable operators, programmers, hardware suppliers, telecommunication and new media professionals and entrepreneurs.

    As a banner corporate sponsor, Fox Cable Networks provides significant financial support to NAMIC's programs. This support includes providing speakers and forums for professional development of its membership. A Fox Cable Network executive serves on the NAMIC Board of Directors.

  • National Association of Program Executives (NATPE) (www.natpe.org) - is a profit association of station program executives dedicated to providing a forum for improving the quality of television programming. Diversity Development co-sponsors with Human Resources and Fox Cable a program for NATPE Diversity Fellows that takes place in July during NATPE's LATVF (Los Angeles Television Festival). Diversity hosts a lunch in which we invite Fox execs to join the Fellows for conversation. This year, the 18 Fellows were joined by executives from FOX Current Programming, FOX Ad Sales, Fox Networks Group Broadcast Operations and Fox Networks Group Human Resources.

  • Broadcast Education Association (www.beaweb.org) - A professional association for professors, industry professionals and graduate students who teach and conduct research related to electronic media and multimedia enterprises. Our participation provides us with access to over 100 selected colleges and universities with diverse student bodies and which have broadcast, media and production departments. The schools include Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) that are part of our college relations program.

  • Academy Of Television Arts And Sciences Summer Intern Program (www.emmys.com/foundation/education) - Diversity placed an intern in FOXSports.com.

  • Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) (www.heartofla.org) - HOLA is one of Los Angeles' largest inner-city after-school programs that serves over 1300 kids from 1st to 12th grade. In 2006, Fox Sports en Espaņol (FSE) became a major corporate sponsor of HOLA's soccer program that included the donation of uniforms, scholarships and facility support. In addition, in large part due to FSE's efforts, HOLA secured a $1 Million "Every Child Foundation" grant in 2006. As a result of FSE's strong commitment to the community, FSE was honored at HOLA's 2006 annual gala with its corporate community award.

  • Fox Career Day - Fox Entertainment Group launched Fox Career Day, its inner-city mentoring program targeting middle school children. Emphasizing the importance of education, over ten diverse Fox executives visited Los Angeles area schools to discuss careers opportunities and educational pursuits. The program works in conjunction with local elected officials to expose students of color in working class communities to a variety of entertainment industry career options including behind-the-scenes career opportunities. The program has touched over 200 children and continues to grow.

  • Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) - On Monday, July 23rd, we held a financial panelist session for the 44 participants of ACAP. The students were welcomed by Gerald Alcantar. The session was moderated by Joy Bellamy, Manager of College & Community Relations, FFE. The panelists were Naomi Martinez, VP Finance, FTS, Irwin Chen, Director, Finance FEG, and Kathy Ohtomo, VP, Finance, FFE. The students had the opportunity to ask career related questions with regard to accounting and finance. The panelists responded with great detail and helpful information, to all the questions and encouraged the students to visit the Fox Career website.

  • 2M + CA "Be Tha Change" (www.bethachange.com) - Fox Entertainment Group strongly supports the launch and the efforts of this organization to reach out to the greater community. The 2M+ CA Voter Education Project was created to cultivate civic awareness, participation and empowerment among the African American and Latino communities, focusing specifically on young adults between the ages of 18-27.
