Fox Broadcasting Company, LLC’s (“Company’s”) California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) metrics for the previous calendar year are as follows:
Requests to Know: Company received 1 request from individuals identifying as California residents to access their personal information for the 2023 reporting period through its designated methods of submission. Company denied 1 request due to failure to verify identity. The median number of days within which Company substantively responded to requests to know was 3.
Requests for Deletion: Company received 26 requests from individuals identifying as California residents to delete their personal information for the 2023 reporting period through its designated methods of submission. Of those requests, Company complied, in whole or in part, with 7 requests. As permitted by the CCPA, Company uses a two-step process for online requests to delete. Company denied 19 requests due to failure to verify identity or failure to separately confirm that they wanted their personal information deleted, as permitted by the CCPA. The median number of days within which Company substantively responded to requests to delete was 10.
Requests for Correction: Company received 1 request from an individual identifying as a California resident to correct their personal information for the 2023 reporting period through its designated methods of submission. Company denied 1 request due to failure to verify identity or to provide sufficient information. The median number of days within which Company substantively responded to requests to correct was 19.
Requests to Opt Out of “Sales” or “Sharing”: Company shares some categories of personal information in connection with certain types of advertisements, which could be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under the CCPA. Company provides a Your Privacy Choices link on its websites and a Your Privacy Choices section in the Account/Settings sections of its digital apps. Company received an estimated 74,908 requests to opt out of “sales or sharing” of personal information during the 2023 reporting period through those mechanisms. In connection with these opt-outs, Company does not inquire as to whether the individual is a California resident. Accordingly, the number of opt-out requests likely includes both Californian and non-California individuals. Company complied with all of those requests. Because opt-outs are processed on an automated basis, the median number of days within which Company substantively responded to requests to opt-out was one day.
